Looking for a little player input
To all of you fellow gamers, what do you think are the best assault rifles and mods to suit them, and semi auto snipers and mods to suit them? These are my 2 primary weapons and I love how theywork together, I've modded every gun I've used and just wanna know the opinions of others :)

That's a tough question to ask. It depends on your perk setup, your playstyle, the type of weapon and the synergy/rolls they have. =x

VBI ARs are the favorite ARs of most players. They strike a very good balance between accuracy, power and clip size. Standard mods would be: external recoil reduction, ionic barrel if you want to use it to fight things with easy to hit crit spots, otherwise power bore, high capacity magazine for PvE, burst mag mod for PvP (increases rate of fire a little bit), and assault scope (increases aim accuracy a little, but doesn't show an actual scope when aiming).

Heavy assault carbines are another popular choice: very high raw power, but a short clip and can be a little tricky to aim (a recoil bonus / grenadier synergy is recommended). Most people put burst mods on these, as they make them fire significantly faster.

I personally like VOT blast rifles. They don't have a huge raw DPS, but they're one of the most precise hip-fire weapons in the game. If you can find one with run'n'gun synergy and put a stabilization sight on it, you really get a small reticle when moving. That makes it a very fun weapon to use, as you can just run and spray everything like crazy. Syphon nano recommended, as they proc quite a bit (because they have the highest effective fire rate in the game). Standard mods are: external recoil reduction, power bore, high capacity magazine (they have a fairly long reload, so you don't want to reload often) and stabilization sight.

Some people like assault carbines, but I feel like they are too inaccurate and have too much recoil. TACC ARs have the opposite problem: very accurate and almost no recoil, but a distinct lack of power. Mazu blast rifles are kind of like VOT blast rifles, but they're not accurate enough to be very efficient while moving. So whenever I use one I end up using it like a VBI AR, for which it's much worse than, well, a VBI AR.

    THis is all solid info.

I prefer FRC Assault Carbines myself, as I find them a nice mix of SAW DMG, and AR recoil. slap an external and get a bonus recoil roll, your in gravy town.

VBI AR as just awesome too

I agree with everything Tekrunner said except for the part about the VBI TACC AR. My VBI Tacc kills any lower enemy with the 3 shot burst. With the extended mag on it, I can clean up a room in seconds. It's accuracy and little recoil makes it very easy to get the crit on bulwarks, monarchs, and pretty much anything that has a crit point. Not to mention that my VBI Tacc cuts volge in half and gets me to the top of the scoreboard in sieges if I really want to be there. Of course, this could just be because I go into beast mode with a VBI Tacc, while everyone else has their own gun to go beast mode with. But the VBI Tacc is not at all a bad choice of a gun.

Thanks for the input! I've been trying to find a nice FRC Heavy Assault Rifle for a little bit now actually, it's nice to know I'm on the right track :). Any advice on snipers?

Essentially they want a Power Bore installed on the gun unless they have crit mult bonuses on the gun.
The Stabilization Sight is the same as the Assault Scope, but improves movement accuracy as well. I only use Stabilization Sights on my ARs/SMGs/LMGs now that the Tactical Scope has changed.

I don't generally use semi-autos, sorry.. A good bolt action would be a VBI Sniper with an ionic barrel though. Over 6000 damage in one crit shot. And that's without the gun having crit rolls.

FRC Assault Carbines are YUM... The setup is generally Stab Sight, High Cap, and Ionic Barrel. but be careful!... threads lately have been talking of Stats maxxing out.

I.E. if you get 2-3 Crit rolls, you may want to install a Power Bore. vice versa, 2-3 DMG rolls, install a Ionic Barrel. Just be careful when you 2x-3x roll your stats.

I have yet to see an actual proof of this personally. I'd be surprised if crit multipliers had a cap, as 1) I haven't seen any other stat be capped (I have weapons with perfect accuracy, no recoil or almost instant reloads), and 2) someone showed a wolfhound with a x7.0 crit multiplier.

Yes, TACC ARs are absolutely decent, but I find they do best against things that you can kill in one burst. Against more difficult mobs other ARs will usually do a little better.

As far as I know stabilization sights don't increase aim accuracy. They increase accuracy by 0.30 while standing still and hip-firing, and movement accuracy by 15%. Whereas assault scopes increase accuracy while aiming by 0.30. I've been putting stabilization sights on weapons that I hip-fire, and assault scopes on the rest.
