Damage splash numbers don't appear from the player's perspective. The whole reason why we can estimate with a fair amount of accuracy what the actual amount of damage reduction a player has running when others record videos of it is because we can see the damage splash numbers and compare them to what they would be if there were no damage resistance effects running.

Trick ran all the different legitimate sources of damage resistance in a post over two months ago and how they could stack. My post at #68 is basically a restatement of his, discounting for two glitches he mentioned that presumably were fixed with update 1.108 (concerning Thick Skinned, and the Machinist mod bonus). Understandably, Trick never went into great detail about how those two aspects can glitch but I sent him and Elizabeth a PM today to clarify as to the status of those two issues (although given what is going on right now I don't expect a response any time soon). The bottom line is that you can't explain more than 3 seconds of damage resistance at 79% or greater by pointing at any legitimage build. There has to be a game mechanic that is not working as intended for that to happen which is why no video is going to ever be able to legitimize what is being observed.

This lag switch you guys are speaking of, sounds more like messing with data packet xmission to me.

Xmissions? Do you mean sniffers? Data packet sniffers are used to collect login details and other private info. They also are used by your ISP to log everything you do over the Internet. It's basically a spy in your computer. Ironically enough, they also are what detect and isolate network intrusions on your computer, and filter suspected bad content from the websites you visit.

I visit some websites specifically for their bad content.....

There are several definitions of 'bad', so:

*I see what you did there*

    applies.

Yes, the act of interfering with packets reaching their destination, causes the data to need to be resent.

I've seen this happen. When this happens though, you don't experience lag-switch, which is what that person described. When this happens, your character moves, but after a second or two your character is sent back to the place where he was. Try to move again, you're sent back. This continues until you're eventually disconnected.

Ok, well I've gotten into contact with Trion support and given them a screenshot of my build and gear, they've escalated my issue (similar to leaving an answering machine message?) and said that they'd get back to me. As to whether there's anything wrong with my build/gear combination they said it was fine. Now as much as I'd love to think that it was just me being awesome, there have clearly been issues with this game, and you guy's have indicated that you think there is something broken with my build/gear, so I'll see what I can take off without making me Flashy Target McSquishy Pants.

    Cheers!
