    K-TAM DLC 2 Interview with Trick This Wednessday 4pm PT Info/Question Thread
    Howdy Folks. K-TAM is once again bringing to you live and on air Trick Dempsey Defiance Creative Lead. We will also have Dahanese providing some back up and then solo for an entire hour after Trick to talk community matters.

    The format will be an open forum on K-TAM via our mumble. I will be moderating, I hope, as much as asking questions/follow ups. Our topic is DLC 2.

    The idea with K-TAM has always been to bring the community closer to the people involved with the game. This means priority to questions will be given to those people who are live, in our mumble talking via their mic's. Then in Mumble Chat, and lastly questions selected by K-TAM Staff from these forums and other sources.

    Feel free to post your questions and comments here. We can't promise or guarantee they will all be answered or even asked. We will get to what we can. Your best chance is to join our mumble in person and ask them yourself.

    Our mumble does have limited space, it will be first come first serve.

    Please keep your questions DLC 2 related.

    Oh DLC 2, well most of my questions were not related to DLC 2. Haha. I'll save them to have asked on the friday live streams.

    Alright, these two questions are somewhat loosely related to DLC 2 (first one because DLC 2 introduces instanced open-world events, second one because shotguns bonuses are tweaked in the DLC). There's no chance I can be online at that time of the day, so I'm just asking them here.

    Would you consider using instancing mechanisms for more open-world events (arkfalls and sieges) ? There's no real fun at arkfalls when there are so many players around that enemies die before even touching the ground, and big crowds cause performance problems to consoles. Arkbreaks are great in that regard.

    Would you consider changing accuracy bonuses on shotguns, in the same way that magazine bonuses were changed on the test server? Right now these bonuses are flat, with values that don't really have any significant effect (a -0.10 bonus on a shotgun with a base accuracy of 15 is a 0.6% bonus...). They would be much better as relative bonuses, like the run 'n 'gun and rolling thunder synergies (x0.90 for white, x085 for green, and so on).

    Oh yeah, and the obvious one: given all the negative feedback on the new grenade system, are you just going to go ahead and push the system the way it is on the test server?

    UPDATE:

    We have confirmed Dahanese for 1 full hour from 5-6 PT live on K-TAM immediately after Trick's interview. That's 2 hours of Dev/CM's for you to join us on Mumble and ask your questions directly.

    It wouldn't be possible with out the support of our fans and listeners to give us the ability to get these people on for you. So thank you to all our supporters. You help make this possible.

    **** If it's not fixed - when? And/or what does TRION propose if it's in fact not fixable as some have opined that the server may have LOST the syn data rendering syn'd mods generic?

    BATTLE RIFLES!

    Will battle rifles ever be turned into their category of weapons? The HACs lack stopping power and the the semi-auto snipers lack ammo. We need a happy medium and it should be battle rifles :)

    Are you going to drop the amount of people needed to start a PvP match? Will Military Academy be fixed? When or are you going to balance Ego Powers in PvP mainly asking for decoy and cloak? Whats being done to improve PvP.

    Which still doesn't address the elephant in the room that you guys are still ignoring. A blog post doesn't have any dialogue exchange. We've been making these posts all week. I've even sent one directly to Trick when I know he was responding to my threads in the alpha section and still nothing. How about actually engaging us on the subject instead of hiding again?

    Not trying to ignore - actually, you in particular have been fabulously helpful this entire week. Between the blog, the live stream, and tonight's interviews I think we're going to have a lot of talk about grenades. Right now Trick's spending most of his time finalizing everything for the launch next week, so he's been a little lean on posting time.

    I know that forums are a preferred method for talk, so if the problem here is wanting replies in that format I can spend some time with him this afternoon knocking out some questions in addition to our other outlets.

    Will the ammo pool ever be increased for sniper rifles, or at least have a separate ammo pool for quick repeaters?

    Why do weapons that require you to aim down sights have less or equal DPS to weapons that are accurate from the hip. Like the Vot Pulser and VBI SMG. I think having to aim down sights is a huge handicap and you end up taking more damage, so it should have more damage if it requires you to aim down sights.

    I'll add this two questions:

    * With Arkbearker DLC we are getting new Votan sets of weapons, when will we get new weapon sets for VBI and FRC?

    * After Lottery Lockboxes were removed from vendors, Lockboxes stopped droping legendary gear for me, were legendary drops reduced or is RNG loot table infested with a hellbug.

    So was there anything substantial with the interview? I was unable to attend. Did he address any of the concerns we've voiced in the alpha section in regards to the DLC or answering any of the other questions?

    Trion - I would be very happy if with DLC we were given new EGO Powers...High Jump, increase armor and health regen, bio man boosts, other ideas?
    Please make it so blades work off of melee damage, esp since you are limited which ego powers you can use while wielding a blade.
    am I the only one who finds rockets worthless? low ammo, not much damage, slow reload, cannot kill any enemy with a single shot or most even with full clip even with direct critical hits.
    finally please look into adding some new nano effects...ice / freeze, acid melt, explosive tip

    Thank you KTAM people for the interview, and Etaew for the transcript. Most of the answers sound fairly good to me, except for the part about grenades. Yes, people on the forums are getting it, in that they understand how it's going to work. But that doesn't mean they're going to be happy about it. But hey, alpha testers did their best to tell Trion what is wrong with the system, now I hope they're ready to deal with some very unhappy players after it hits live.

    Oh and yeah. So apparently now legendary grenades are not going to have a 0.0 fuse time, because some people mentioned that they like being able to bounce grenades. Well, I don't, and I've always looked for 0.0 grenades. So now grenades were essentially nerfed for me. This is the problem with removing itemization on grenades. The system used to offer a wide variety of grenades, from which people could pick and use what they liked best. Now we are all going to have to use the same things, which is so unlike the rest of the loot system that I still do not understand how this was deemed a good solution.

    I only use my 0 det frag grenade and it took me forever to get a legendary one. It's the only one I like and also the only one any one was looking for. Now because some people have a bug that a 0 det grenade blows up when they throw it he decided to further ruin grenades for everyone and make sure no one had a 0 det grenade. I should stop being so upset on all the inane decisions and just take bets on what the stupidest idea is they will implement next.

    Was the Hunter's Arse post that went up today the grenade blog post you mentioned, or should we be expecting something more substantive?
