Basically i want to level my infector skill to 10. I realise i could take the weapon to WM and level it there, but i actually prefer to put an effort in when against him.

No, no infectors on the WarMaster ever, if you're not there to help you're a hindrance - if you want to level infectors use Invaders and Cankers on the Afflicted Sieges and Emergencies.
You could try Scrapper Arkfalls, omnivolts and forges are the best targets.
Aim for the crit zones for max damage. Look for a Canker they have good dps.
That's how I got to lvl 10 and stopped there.
If you have the first DLC, the Arenas can be a great place for weapon leveling as well.

I'll try the various emergencies/sieges/arkfalls/arenas, not WM. I didn't want to use it on the WM after all, and would have if i found no practical alternative. Since i don't want to let my Thunder or Splitshot cool too long.
I do love infectors, but only for their novelty.
Go with Cankers. They are pretty much the best for infectors those and the newer one (cant think of its name) that came out in this 2nd DLC. Pretty much the same but quicker reload times as the Canker. For WM go with Surge Bolters.
Personally found Volge sieges pretty good.
Well i have tried a siege v. afflicted. One was kind enough to drop an blue invader. And got infectors up to l.9, admittedly my score wasn't great but to be expected. Haven't got any cankers yet so will keep an eye out.
As for arenas, not so good for leveling (so far), however my backup splitshot has been one-shotting golden skitterlings in the lower two arenas. And each drops a blue or higher from what i have seen, add the no cost to enter, the XP and rep, and scrip. Well makes seeing the WM a total waste of time and a slap in the face.
Just FYI, unless they changed the rules of the arenas (which is quite possible) you can't level anything. You don't get any weapons experience by doing them. The only thing I found they helped with is specific weapon kill counts. If you need 500ish kills with a shotgun or something I would definitely use the arenas otherwise use instances outside for weapons experience. Good luck. Hopefully it goes quickly for you.
I should have said that the arenas are more geared to leveling the repeating weapons and not so much with the sniper rifles as something large with many hit points and a good crit target (like a Forge).Quote:
