Well, that's definitely the truth. As with most online games, there always seems to be a subset of people that complain/bash just to do so.

There are also those people that get off on being griefers -- think people breaking the Warmaster locks on purpose with only 5 people in the room.

I completely agree, but unfortunately it has become the norm over the past several years. I choose to blame bad parenting. ;)

Defiance is a good game when you're playing through the story missions, but it's a sh*tty game when you look at it as a persistent world MMO. Most of the posters here are in that second, post-story phase of the game, hence the discontent.

Basically, Trion built an MMO with a PvE focus when they should have built a lobby-based PvP game with a single-player campaign.

I don't know what any of you are talking about, hehe.
I just want the dang thing set back the way it is supposed to be and I will want to play again.

It seems like the forums are filled with negative comments about how this game has let them down, or how technical issues make the game unplayable. I personally have had little issue with the game on PC. I find it to be pretty entertaining. That being said, if I had issues with the game I wouldn't waste time complaining here, I would move on and find a new game that doesn't drive me insane with anger.

This analogy might not make sense to most of the people that are obsessively complaining, but I'll try anyways. Imagine you are in a bad relationship. You know it, and he/she knows it. It's best to just cut your losses and move on. When you hang around your ex's apartment and try to bad mouth them to every person walking by, it kinda makes you look a little crazy. And more than a little pathetic. I know you feel jaded. I get it. But guess what? That's life. Instead of dedicating so much time and energy to something you obviously hate, go find something new to love. Leave Defiance to the people that enjoy it.

This isn't directed to the people offering constructive criticism. I welcome any feedback that attempts to improve the game or the over all experience. I am just getting tired of the hatred and negativity. It's a game. It's supposed to be fun. If you aren't having fun, then go and try to find it elsewhere.

I completely agree with you, there is a lot of negativity without construction here. I usually only come to forum for trading, but sometimes I like to read & comment, but recently its almost too depressing. I don't understand why people create an exit/quitting thread; nobody cares, just go and play another game. I wouldn't expect anyone to care if I left, but I'm not leaving yet, I still enjoy the game "in all it's broken glory" (quote stolen from another player)

I understand why people trash this game, its probably because it was trash when it released and its still trash. I'm utterly surprised people are still into defiance, I have low standards when it comes to game and defiance has shown me they can go lower.

I've seen seagulls nesting that was more interesting than defiance, but don't let me spoil your fun, go log in and enjoy your substandard product while watching Triton employees jump ship all the while your saying to yourself "maybe I should make a thread listing all the problems that's been listed for the last 6 months" They just might listen lol

    And public schooling!

On topic. I love the game. I do not like how it is being handled.

When changes are made that are game breaking to the point that a large chunk of the player base quits, eyebrows should be raised, not shoulders shrugged.

When things are not implemented that have been stated would be, causing a large chunk of the player base quits, action should be taken, not excuses made.

The forum is a place where ppl that have an interest in the game can congregate and bounce ideas, relieve frustration, ask for guidance, and talk about the game. Some ppl are going to say things that you don't agree with. Opinions differ.

I actually get a kick from grieving "griefers" from time to time, but at the end of the day, they are really only complaining about the same issues everyone else may be having and just lash out instead of being constructive.

The joy of the world that we live in, is that we can simply "turn them off." Not feed into their wallow of despair. I'm sure you've seen something on TV that you don't agree with. Simply skip over it and change the channel.

Defiance is a good game, but it has a lot of issues and there's not enough VISIBLE effort or resources being put in the right directions to enhance and secure the future of the game. That upsets people, to feel like a game they've invested in, emotionally, and somewhat financially might just fall over and die. (Okay, we've all probably got our money's worth by now, most games don't last as long as MMOs do replayability-wise). Personally, I think it may be because they're working on next season's episode content, and the DLCs are falling short because it's taking them longer than they expected or they're hitting roadblocks they're too afraid to tell us about.

Whatever it is, I've got to be okay it and be patient. Defiance managed to hold my interest longer than I expected, it saved me from FFXIV and countless other MMORPGs that would have CONSUMED me with their endless grinds and gear-chases. I'm able to play this game more or less casually and enjoy it, while also doing my best to enjoy the setting in other ways, like roleplaying here on the forums, or drawing my characters.

So anyway, while I understand why a lot of people are angry, I know getting angry probably isn't going to do anything good. The best way to show them you care is to show your support in whatever way you can. Suggestions are great, insults are not. We're not in elementary school where pulling a girl's hair meant you liked her.
