Love the game, hate the disconnects

I decided to try the Defiance trial on PC to see what the game is like and was pleasantly surprised. The game plays well and I found it very enjoyable, to the point where I would happily pay for it and hand over the monthly subscription no problem.

The thing that is stopping me are the disconnects, now I haven't played the game long enough to know if this is the norm but it would be a deal breaker for me, I hate working for something for 10-15 minutes only to be disconnected just before the completion of the task in hand, be it mission or Ark Fall. This has happened to me several times over the 2 days I have played it and has ruined an otherwise great game.

So I have a dilemma, do I pay up and go for it, hopping that it is a transient thing and that the game server/s aren't really that unstable all the time or do I except that it is part and parcel of the Defiance experience and have to give it a miss.

Maybe some of you guys can shed some light on this problem and give me some advice on whether its just down to a bad patch or something. I play lots of other MMO's, have a very good game PC, fast internet connection and do not experience this problem with them so what would be your verdict?

Look at these way. That's some issues, but there is no monthly subscription in Defiance.

I have been playing on pc since launch and have almost never had the disconnect problems you seem to be having.

It's most likely due to the ****ty console hardware. 512MB of RAM isn't enough for an MMO.

I like how people blame server disconnects solely on Trion. I live in AUSTRALIA and have had few, and I mean few, disconnects. Usually the disconnects where everyone is disconnected as well. More likely that something along the way disconnects you, rather than Trion.

after all the complaints wiz zee connecting into Defiance, i am aware this is a Online game, and the spiff that comes with an Online experience, comes with connection stability *straight-face*

Faces don't get any straighter than that...

As some posters have pointed out this may not be a game issue. I very, very rarely get disconnects. So it can be anything from your modem to the server; and all the miles between.
But with no info we can just guess. Best thing you can do now is check the tech forum. er um bug reports and issues forum.

Disconnect? It never happened to me since I bought it 1 week ago. I'm from Indonesia,with connection only 1 mbps . Maybe it's your connection/ISP. I'm using PC btw

It's obviously a hardware issue. My equipment is of the glorious pc master race.
