Vehicle despawn.

So I turn left out of The Crater on my way to start Episode 1: The Departed.
Chasing down Nolan after he swiped the gem in the mine.
I'm still within sight of The Crater, I'm just up to where the 3 99rs hang out by the truck that's in the gully.

And my vehicle despawns.
Medi-Duni.
poof, gone.

OK, I can deal....

But while I'm standing there fighting off the 99rs, about 6 or 8 OTHER vehicles whiz passed one at a time, no despawns, no slow down, just single file drive-thru.

Weird, eh?
I'm not surprised by the despawn itself.
I'm surprised that within 30 seconds I got passed by a parade that had zero despawns in exactly the same place.
Something in the area made MINE despawn, but no one else?

Anyone else see similar selectivity??

I've had a clanmate report to me that he was driving alongside 3 other players, and they all were kicked at the same time.

I've had mine vanish for no reason at all, even when I'm entirely alone in the area. One moment I'm racing down the road, the next I'm running.

this has been happening to me quite frequently ever since the latest DLC :S

They know, it's just rather difficult to reliably duplicate it.

I'm sure they will get it licked eventually.

I wonder if it could be a manifestation of the infamous memory leak?
Like the game forgets you were driving?
Prolly just showed off my ignorance just then.

It's okay, we'll let it slide.

More likely the vehicles themselves are leaking petrohol and combust.

They should just say they added it as an immersion factor. These rides are old and busted so they tend to blow up by themselves.

And today I had 2 times when I on my ATV just boosting along and it jumps me off my ATV and it disappears on me.

I suppose it could be the result of a server/client mismatch of data streams....
One of them 'forgets' you were in a vehicle, and the other matches 'existing' (defaults to lowest common info state) for continuity?

Wasn't that like the explanation of why mods on weapons suddenly went 'blank syn'?
There was a momentary mismatch of server/client data, so it just defaulted to generic, and stayed that way.

Perhaps the vehicles exploding out from under us are because someone is crossing the streams? :eek:
