So I have been steadily playing defiance since day one doing the races, side missions, arkfalls, volge battles, and etc. Every now and then I would play a episode and main campaign mission. I have now beat the campaign and I look at the goals, it says season 1. So just wondering will there be a season 2 with more goals and stuff. That would be exciting if they expanded the map. :D
Trick, in the Live Stream yesterday, says they're working on stuff for season 2.

Other than the episode tie-in quests, we literally know nothing of Trions plans for the games once DLC5 is released.
Either we'll get another "season" of 5 DLCs, or, less likely, a tradition expansion pack.
A third possibility is the game goes on cruise control, but with the tie-in to the show, I'm sure the game will be actively updated until at least the show is cancelled whenever that is.
I predict another season pass of 5 DLCs, though luckily, I think it'll have a more steady release date over the mess that was the first DLC and second.
I also think it would be smart of them to port the game with HD textures and the memory boost option to the PS4/XB1 as soon as possible, but at this point, that seems unlikely.
They've already clarified, a few times, that they have no intention of porting to PS4. They want to concentrate on current consolesQuote:

I mean - had they started porting to the PS4 when they first heard about it - the TRION PS4 port of Defi would be ready in SOON=July/August anyway....

A_T is correct, of course, but there are few avenues besides telepathy to get a message to Trion, and this is one.
There are more people using XBox360 and PS3 than XBox One and PS4. With the current state of things and the current economic market (especially for game development), it would not make sense to spend the enormous amount of money on development to port the game to the newer consoles. It would simply be a money sink for no real gains. You can keep telling yourself that it would keep the game relevant, but it wouldn't. The numbers simply aren't there yet. Maybe one to two years down the road it would make sense, but not now. There simply isn't enough market saturation.

Of course there will be season 2 stuff. So far we only know of one crossover - a human character called Barth who is in both show and game (or at least his voice is).
I keep saying this over and over again, it`s much easier now to port the game from the PC to PS4 or XBOX1 because the arquitecture of both consoles is the same of the PC`s. There is no more excuses that programing to Playstation is VERY HARD.
I would play it on PS4, don`t really know how much longer i can stand the tremendous lag, disconections every 5/10 minutes...my patience is starting to ware of.
I would even pay an upgrade fee like i did for COD Ghosts to play on PS4.
Except Richardsson no longer work for Trion since JULY last year.. so yeah.. Im not sure why this "article" was written about something someone said 4 months before, also note that he didnt seem to think that porting a game from a console to another need works.Quote:

Not necessary, I have built two full desktop computers with parts from newegg. Medium to high end parts, but still better than buying a pre built from a store as far as prices go. After getting a tower and Mobo though you are already at around 200 dollars spent, plus there is still ram, processor, graphic card, monitor, speakers and list goes on and on.Quote:

It's a refurbish; missing wifi antennas, I got for $380. I5 and 8gig but desperately needs a graphics card. lol
I really have nothing against Xbox or PS, it's just there are things I like to do you can't do on them ;)

So I have a question, if they start season 2 for the game, will they raise the current EGO level cap? Surely they will have new pursuits for us in season 2 (assuming), so all those who are currently topped out won't feel like they are just wasting those EGO points for nothing.
I wouldn't count on anything, but I'd like to give the devs enough credit to know just another set of pursuits on the same map wont fly. Seriously, if they don't do a map expansion for season 2, I think even the fanboys would change there tune.
I'd rather spend $1500 on a PC over $549 on a console = Aussie prices..
549 would obviously go over 1500 anyway because i have no TV or anything else.

The lifespan of the 360/PS3, v.s. the adoption of the next gen consoles will as in the past always be driven by the "killer app". I actually thought it quite odd that the launch of the next gen consoles in this iteration lacked a title at launch that would merit the purchase of the next console.
My bust guess is that the adoption rate of the new consoles will not gain momentum until a title like DESTINY is released. In the interim, and even after for a long while the 360/ps3 will linger on with a considerable player base.
For Season 2, if they don't raise EGO cap and expand the map, I don't see me playing my high-level toon really at all. Once I'm done, I'm moving over to one of my alts but even that will only be fun for awhile. So if they go with what's been done for DLC's on Season 1, they're probably going to need a whole new player base. Like I said, it can only be fun for awhile and another year of this wouldn't inspire me to continue. Probably a lot of long-time players would be finding other games to play too. IMHO.
I agree. Console launches to date have usually came out with some killer title, or it came out very soon after. I know Xbox1 is depending on Titan fall, but at present, and even with out a killer title, PS4 is way out selling Xbox1.Quote:

I was, for a while, hoping for whole new areas like Canada or someone else in the US, but at this point, I'd be happy if they just finished Fort Defiance.....
Again, they've confirmed nothing for season 2 other than the tie-ins for the show are being done.
For the game, that's all we have to go on right now.
