I don't think Trion understands. Players (and former players) are/were not upset that it takes you a while to FIX the DLPs after release, they are upset that you RELEASE them in such a mangled, untested and ultimately sloppy mess of a state to begin with. You release patches and DLPs and they are so far ALWAYS jacked up and it's at least a week or more before they are even playable. Stop selling us crap and then "working on it" while we get disconnected and frustrated trying to play the new stuff. FINISH your work before you present it to the customers.

They are trying their best think about how awful the game was when it started now look at it its changed and is so much better. Actually your on the wrong end of this one... Nothing there was DISrespectful (sorry, had to, too easy). In fact, everything he said was right...

Trion even gives the Alpha Test Servers for about a week or 2, make minor changes, know theres something wrong. They then release the Patch, and immediately Hotfix 1-2 times... Then they read what we hate, and what they missed. Then another 2-3 Patches to fix it to somewhat stable conditions.

The forums are the place to complain about what you dont like, its how the company gets direct feedback. DIS didnt do it in a way that deserves criticism... Which, is rare these days as people just come here ranting without a good reason behind it. I.E. "This sucks, fix the game /10char"

I think Trion understands that they screwed people dont need to keep telling them.

I can honestly say if people found the game too easy they should have just quit and went to a game that suited their challenge needs better than Defiance. As for it being better....your one funny dude man...hahahahahaha. Yep please take your own advice and don't complain Smit if you don't like people voicing their concerns just don't visit the forums. The state of gaming as a whole, is a poor one when it comes to voicing opinions, you must realise this. Let me explain... The people happiest with this game, rarely post saying "Great game, awesome graphics update on the enemies. New attacks make it very challenging and make me feel ive accomplished a great feat."...

The Negative voices are the loudest because they hate change, think the game has gone quite poorly (in Defiances case), or something like cant take a spanking when theyve "cheated" (see: EL Vendors, or GTA V money glitching). You just have to sift through and find the good bad, vs the bad bad.

The following is my rule of thumb when it comes to whether or not to buy a game:

1) If the forums are full of posts about how bad the game is, then it's a bad game.
2) If the forums are full of posts about how good the game is, then it's a bad game.
3) If the forums are full of posts about how great the game "is going to be", then it will be a bad game.
4) If the forums are bereft of any posts regarding how good or bad the game is, then it's a good game.
5) If the forums are dead then it will be a sleeper hit and you need to buy stock in the company ASAP!

I may have sprinkled a smidgen of sarcasm in tiny areas of this post, but I will neither confirm or deny where it may be located.

Indeed, and if it only was 5 times... Defiance should never have been released on the 2th of april 2013. I played the beta, and the final result was almost exactly like the beta. This means it was a great game on the way, but not there yet. It was 'undercooked' and unfinished. They clearly needed 3-6 months more time for proper development to release the game in a good state. But yeah... TV-series, SyFy, contracts. So the game got pushed out. And after that it's a full year of work in progress. And as we all know, working on something in peace is way easier then working on something that is already in use.

And if that wasnt enough they had to push 5 DLC's out in a year. Because the game was leaps behind the DLC's also got delayed to a point were suddenly 3 DLC's had to be launched within 4 months. So far that made every DLC a disappointment.

DLC1, Solo-Arena's in a MMO. A Joke, later they fixed it and you could enter with groups. Sadly the score-table didnt got adjusted, so with 4 people you had gold in the first round. We can call this DLC a huge fail.

DLC2, Arkbreak. Generally a great idea! But if 24 people are entering and 15 get disconnected i consider it broken. And that never got fixed, still suffer DC's when entering the WM. Not too mention the frustation of putting down 40k worth of spikes and see a random fool break the locks early... I call this DLC broken.

DLC3. Right, you have ninja's that want you to kill mobs at emergencies and the have a Siege at the end? Who thought of that? They took emergencies, that already excisted ingame. They brought back Sieges that were already part of former episode-content and called it 'DLC'. I would call this DLC a cheap rip-off.

DLC4, Gunslinger. Again a great idea! But OMG, where is the originality? Old PvP- and Coop-maps filled with mobs? C'mon! I like the outfits and weapons from this DLC. Sadly they're part of the VBI-vendor which makes grinding for rep a kick in the nuts. You can only hope to get that weapon or outfit you like. It's the only decent DLC so far.

DLC5 made the game unplayable. It broke a broken game. Discouraging newcomers cause of the difficulty and frustating vets cause of all those great gear that became useless in one single patch. It's a dirty moneygrab. A vendor that only holds 5.000 EGO weapons? So if you're below 5000 EGO this whole DLC is useless, because you cant use those new weapons and you'll be dead weight to carry for big EGO's in the expert coops. If you're over 5000 EGO, grats! You may buy these weapons and spent money on Arkfolge because within a week your new weapon is useless as you progress on EGO. This DLC is gamebreaking as a whole!

So... That makes a total of 6 unfinished products that they've thrown on the market. That's a lot of 'Working on it', and i doubt they'll manage to solve it all before they'll be adding more broken stuff ingame. Season 2 on it's way, and a map-expansion in sight. Pretty exciting, if it werent for the fact that i got excited several times and got disappointed an equal amount of times.

I still enjoy the game, game play had not changed drastically for me. Finally got to use BMGs and revive, self-revive perks with revive and after revive resistance increase xD

It's just too bad that Trion dropped the ball on this game. I really like the idea and the possibilities. I just wish they would sell the IP to someone that cares as much s the players do.

Yes it can. Most games that are bought out, are either locked up forever, or torn apart to use partial peices in a game that new company is making and they will claim all stuff in it is thier idea. They will also get away with it because they do now "own all rights" to every part of that old game they destroyed.
no matter which way they choose to take it, the server will be closed down, and you will have to pay to play that same game (again) if they choose to re-release or remake it.

Not entirely convinced that either of those would b worse than the devs getting things almost fixed and then releasing a busted *** patch, then almost getting it fixed then releasing another busted *** patch. At this point I would rather some other company remake the game, I would rather give someone else $60 to fix the game than to trust Trion to do anything other than what they have done for the past year.

All I know, is I have time to read and post in the forums. I do not have time to play Defiance.
Of course most people do not understand this concept, the concept of time.
I use to jump in to the forum to search for needed information.
Now all I find is...is...is...WELL, crap.
It takes 2 to 3 hours to finish something you start, 1000 bullets to kill something, 20k scrip to play the instance.
Sorry, it is not for me and Defiance is not the same game I purchased a few months back.
Unlike Smiit, I am not a professional top notch game player nor am I stuck in my chair to play all day.
TRION forgot about the casual game player, the new game player, opting only for the retention of the elite.
Far to much like the political structure of America. The rich get richer the poor get poorer.
They say they are working on it and fixing the problems, but in what direction.
Are they fixing it for the elitist or for the average game player ?

They are not trying to please any group in particular, they are doing what they want and hoping people will keep pumping money into their coffers.

I agree... How many game companies put out 3 patches in a week? I think they are doing a great job with this DLC.

Resources are at a all time high as far as easy to get. More than ever there's no reason to spend money on bits. Oranges are plentiful now through incursions , arkfalls , vendor boxes and key boxes. Everything can be gotten with no problem without spending real money. Mobs are even dropping purples and blues more often than ever. Ark salvage is no problem with how quick everyone is pooping on the battlefield. After a incursion or arkfall I bet you can collect 20k salvage easy. They have made this game so easy anymore to get everything you guys should be happy.

Ahh there's the rub, I disagree, if they had heeded the advice of the alpha testers and allowed for proper testing and tweeks before rushing this out, then there might not be a need for 3 patches the first week.

Before I go - you just can't stop attacking every post I make, can you? Again, DLC IS NOT AVAILABLE ON PS3 UNTIL 4/29 and my friends are playing and we do talk so I DO know what's going on. I'll buy DLC on 4/29, check it out, and see how it goes. But I KNOW what the state of the game is right now and it's not good. Your game experience is vastly different from the majority of my 20-plus Defiance-active friends so just leave me alone. I see no harm in agreeing to disagree.

This whole thing reminds me of the grenade thing. I've read in another post that they are not going to get rid of the scaling, but they are going to tweak it. So what I get out of this is: We are going to keep it, it doesn't matter what the players want and if you don't like it that's just too bad.

Yes...using ARK SALVAGE to acquire keys to open more boxes... To get more ARK FoRGE...the more you guys respond to me the more I realize you guys are here just to try and shut down anyone supporting this DLC. Well I'm not going anywhere.i like the koolaid they are giving me.

Like anything in life, 10 people will see it 10different ways. Long story short, if the devs finished the DLPs before releasing them, or even listened the alpha testers, there would be no need for them to put out so many patches so close together. Trion doesn't care, they are putting forth minimal effort and that is obvious whether some people want to admit it or not. We all see it clearly. Luckily for Trion, there are enough people that prefer to play a broken game and hope things will get better than there are people that know when they are being BSed and strung along to be used to pay for the companies other ventures.

They knew the open world scaling didn't work in alpha because they turned it off. Why the released it live the way they knew it was broken on the test server is beyond my ability to grasp.

lose scrip and salvage ey .. dont know it pretty much tripled on day one of 1.5 and keep on growing far faster than previously.
