why there so many people call it not mmorpg when it is?

I'm still trying to figure out what was the point for the different "classes" I mean they don't mean anything at all. Which is sad as they could have easily added in a few things to make the classes unique but just slightly diverse. I don't know I just find it weird they have classes but then don't give any reason for there to be classes.

You said nothing about dropping loot, and the weapons have different stats on them, and effects... e.g. Shock Charge vs Land Mine.

What this game is, is a Third Person Shooter, with MMO attached.

you Role play as a character in game any game with storyline is a RPG. the storyline in cod are RPG

you role play as a army guy to kill off the other army. why you hate the word rpg in a shooter game anyways?

To be honest the only thing its missing to make it a true mmo is:

A: World chat
B: Trade chat (there is no auction which is fine)
and
C: some of the mission you must solo (it actually disbands the group your in)

I am enjoying this game alot but the way chat is set up it feels more like a offline single person shooter at times. (if that makes any sense lol)

one thing I really wish they would implement is not allowing a vehicle onto the arkfall area (when it is happening) cause you get these morons just driving around trying to kill mobs with their cars and pushing them all over the map while your trying to take a shot lol but that is just a pet peeve of mine lol

why do you guys even care how people are calling this game, mmorpg or mmotps..... big deal. some might even see it as a single player game, let them. why bother, why care?
its Defiance, you shoot, you level up, and you can play together. done

I was being sarcastic to show how stupid your claim that "since things drop loot, this is an RPG" is.

And it's not exactly accurate to say any game with a storyline is an RPG.

It's more than a pet peeve when you get the jerks pushing important mobs outside their rubber band range, and they warp back to the center with full health...

the chat system can be fix and get better when they do updates. they thought everyone would use the voice chat system over the chat channel. to me i think they were trying to get fps to play a mmorpg lol

Stop calling every single online game to come out, since wow ruined online gaming, an MMORPG. Hell stop calling most of them MMO's too. I can agree that defiance is a MMO-shooter but the ego perks are more COD than RPG.
