Ive been around from the start. Like many i took a break and now i'm still waiting on replies to tickets about my missing characters. Almost a week and no reply at all.
200 hours of game time down the drain and losing all interest in Trion and their games.

Check your region in the launcher, or the Trion account you are logging in with :D

Joined shortly after launch and played for a few months. After having issues with Firefall I came back here shortly before the bulletsponge patch hit. The mess they've made more or less made sure, that as soon as Firefall gets optimized or The Division is launched, I'm out of here. Whatever respect and loyalty Trion earned with Rift is spent, thanks to the last three "DLC".

I also play other MMOs, but TPS type games are a nice break from the usual hotkey based MMOs. However, I also play games to relax and get rid of stress. And there Defiance starts to fail. If you have to go through waves upon waves of bulletsponge mobs, it becomes tedious, not fun.

You have a concept with so much potential here. And you squander it.

Beta/Pre-ordered. Frustrated with all sorts of issues but still here - took a 3-month break last fall. It's...still interesting.

I bought the game a few weeks after it launched in April 2013... guess I'm more of a casual player, because I find little to no reason to log into the game on a daily basis. And the last few Defiance live streams have only solidified this stance that I've taken.

Very same thing I've been telling myself after DLP 5 landed in our laps.

    Late but not lastest...

Did Alpha/Beta. Pre-ordered. Had the previous experience from STO's lifetime membership to know better than to buy a season pass. Played heavily until grenades (coinciding with a vid card blow out). Decided to come back for the bullet sponge DLC. Some improvements, but little progress. I still enjoy watching heads disappear with my bolt actions.

I'm not a "Day One'r", but I've been around since the first few weeks of the game and I'm still slammin' away at it. The game is DEFINITELY NOT without its faults, but it still entertains me and allows me to play with some pretty cool people.

I have also been here since launch. Had a bit of a break when ps4 came out but have been on more regularly recently. I'm still hoping for a ps4 port but there's been no mention of it since the initial "we'd like to bring to next gens" comment.

They said in the last stream (well they mumbled it) that it wont be any port for the PS4 or XBOXOne.
You can see the Twitch stream for that, search for it, google is your friend or you can read this thread here:

I believe they've said they need the number of owners of these next gen consoles to reach a high enough point to justify the development time to move the game to those consoles. I have no idea idea of those numbers, but it seems to make sense from a business perspective. Obviously from a gamer perspective we expect things to just be copy-pasted from one console to another, it obviously isn't that simple.

Funny, did notice a good deal of mumbling too. If it was because he was occupied with playing, of trying to avoid answering too clearly to uncomfortable questions, is open for discussion.

And thanks again, Etaew, for doing this for the community.

Still here since day 1. Love the game, adapted to the changes and now like most of them. I still think the scaling is a bit off but over all a good game!

Did alpha/beta and was here at launch. I've been playing, uh, sorta regularly over the past year, although I did take a 4 month break to do BL1 & BL2 and check out some other games.

The bullet sponges suck. I've yet to see a WM go down and I've probably been to about 20 of them. And while I was happy to see them make weapon stats go up with ego, I was really not happy about the 14 legendaries I had in my backpack that are more or less worthless now. (Yes, even with the free arkforge we got.)

On the flip side, I log on because it's still somewhat fun and easy. I love just driving around, camping out at Iron Demon for the instances, ark falls and the like. It's a nice time killer when you don't want to be completely alone.

For the Alpha testers: Maybe now they can release the plasma pulser again. :D I'd kill to have that back in the game. Charge $20 in the store and I'd totally buy it.

Alpha/Beta Preorder Day 1 here. Took a break some time ago but came back. Lots of regulars left as expected. Still got SlicTrix around so I know it's all good.

Especially when talking about the change from PS3 to PS4 with the almost complete redesign of the OS for the new console. (OrbisOS is a kernal of FreeBSD. This is why there is no backward compatibility on the system as of right now. They have to build an emulator.) Honestly, if Sony and Microsoft will create something in their OS to play the older system's downloaded games, Trion wouldn't need to create a port. (It'd be nice to get upgraded graphics, but the extra hardware to reduce the problems related to said issue (some of the dcs, General Steve, some of the lag..)).

Sorry but off hand I can't remember the name of the game or the company, will try to find in the morning but before ps4 was released a company had said that the similarity between PC and ps4 architecture meant they were able to get a playable pc port done in less than 6 weeks.

This isn't the article I originally referred to as there is no specific example but it does mention aaa titles taking 2 months to port.

    Now I'm off to bed.

Guess ill jump the bandwagon here. Day one/beta player took hiatus after dlc1 then came back after dlc3. Game is fun, servers are poop. social aspect is the best part though. Cheers to the veterans may we die out quietly.

Alpha and Beta Tester, and "Day Oner" here as well. After the total kick in the teeth that was DLC 2 (what content??), I left the game for other venues, and figured I'd come back with DLC5 to see if my season pass was worth it. I still play a bit here and there when I'm not busy living outdoors and enjoying the rarity of sunlight, or when I'm not alpha testing other games for other developers (yes, there are some amazing ones coming down the pipe). I'm sure the "bullet sponge" thing is really fun for some people, and I happen to be one of them. Just something about being able to move hard and fast in a direction and laying the crosshairs on a volge troopers head and letting that VOT Blaster fling rounds at him like cow chips :) I worry about this games direction in F2P and how their going to manage it. For now, I'll just enjoy shooting things like crazy and waiting for someone to drop an ark spike so I can finally see this WM everyone's talking about.

As for this.. Opus.. I soooo agree! Over Powered or Not.. THAT was the gun that should have been graphics tweaked and made it back into the game.. and I see never did. I'd pay for it as well if they re-introduced it.

Ok.. have to say.. if you want a NON-OP version of the plasma pulser, get a Volge Thunderer Pistol. Almost identical to the PP in the way it looks and effects, but not full auto and the graphics bloom is smaller. Be warned tho, it's a SERIOUS aggro magnet, especially when doing volge sieges..lol
