Honest assessment, are you happy you bought the game, or wish you didn't
Personally I feel the game is good, just not great.

Its launch was good as far as I could tell on my end, just I feel it's really a sub par game. Nothing ground breaking,

I know some people say the game is utterly amazing, others say it is utterly junk, I don't feel either assessment is true.

I just feel the game could of been much better, I think it was over hyped, which hurts everything really. It just don't feel very polished to me.

I'm still playing, and I'm having fun, but I wouldn't of bought it if i had my time back. How about you?

I like what I got so far. There are a few things that need patching but overall this is a fun game to play with a lot more good than being credited here in the forums.

    edit: I'm on Ps3

I like the game more now. Still has it's issues like any game.
I can easily see getting 500-1000 hours out of this. That's A-OK to me.

Hmmm. Have to admit that I'm disappointed in the frame rate and screen tearing issues. It's not a very attractive game on the 360.

I'm really enjoying the game. I am just wondering why there isn't one review out yet,ie ign, gamespot, gametrailers etc.

So if I were to get it on the PC, is it worth it? What would be a good sale price for this game to make it worth it?

I like the game but all the patching issues and now getting timed out if trying to log in is pissing me off, but once thats fixed i will be happy with my purchase

But isn't it an MMO? So you would need an account? Meaning no used copies?

For now, I like it. It isn't anything spectacular, but its fun (for now). Definitely needs a UI/menu overhaul and more keybindings (ability to swap loadouts on a key press, in PC at least)

I'm pretty happy overall. There is room for the game to improve and to grow, but I have to say, the negative rage posts are really getting to me.

I've enjoyed what I've played so far, except defending cass at the damned radio tower for the 3rd time... and the upgraded mutants with the hostages event, ugh, painful but rewarding :P

I like the dynamic events, big time, and I can't wait to get some better guns so I can get into a co-op match, I haven't done one yet.

Also, really looking forward to a BMG and an infector :)

you cant really sell used copies of an mmo... You could sell your Trion account I guess, but im not sure if that is even permitted.

You could sell your xbox/ps3 version.

ANd yeah you be selling your trion account, which is probably against TOS, but every other mmo, it happens against or with TOS.

I like it but, I don't feel its worth $99 USD..... NO PC options at all and still waiting on my DDC pre-order everything

Felt more I got charged for a Free to Play the game is so unpolished...hope the TV show isn't this bad it would be lucky to get past the pilot.....

    ehh.. 's okay.
    things I am happy about:
seems to run fairly smoothly, all things considered. very little lagbeast, almost no difficulty with items, selecting points, moving cell areas.

    things I am unhappy about:
it's pretty much the same as the beta client release, with same bugs that were in beta 3.
    =\

pretty much this exactly.. I enjoy it, its different and fun to mindlessly blow crap up and still.. the Olympic jumping is bleh.. might as well give me a jetpack..

I'll play and get passed the 250 ego I was in Beta and give it a push to 500+ or so to see what it has to offer but it seems fairly shallow to even use the term 'MMO'

You mentioned the main thing there m8. FUN. That's what I want in a game and that's what I'm getting out of this game...

I think so far it's been a pretty decent game IMHO. I have had quite a bit of fun playing so far, and I think once the majority of the issues are ironed out things will be a lot better. At least the company is listening to the player base cause they implemented the ammo caches at the arkfall sites! It's gonna interesting to see what's next, and if I had to do it all over again I would still buy the game in a heartbeat.

Honestly, I am debating this point right now. Normally I am not quick to dump on a game or regret my purchase, but this time... I don't know.

There is a coolness factor to Defiance, but I am feeling like it should be in a far better state than it is currently.

    - As I have said in other topics, I am shocked at how ill balanced the weaponry is. The vast majority of guns are simply ineffective.

    - I do 'solo' missions where I am suddenly swarmed and gunned down by 10 raiders (I counted!), with no chance of survival.

    - I do major arkfall events, and although it takes 50+ people to complete this event, I don't really see any rewards. You would think a gigantic raid boss would drop a blue weapon or something, right?

    - Possibly the worst menu system in any videogame ever.

    - And we cannot overlook the 'robust' voice chat settings this game offers.

I am sorry, but how is this even remotely Launch ready? I just got this game a day ago. I should be hyped up about it and excited to log in and play some more. But it's actually making me want to go play something else.

The only reason I still have some faith is that I have seen how active Trion is with patches, back in Rift. They are the most active MMO developers I have ever seen. So on that, I am willing to keep the faith for a while, but Trion really needs to get on the ball here and do a LOT of fixing, really fast.

I was a little frustrated at first because I didn't get my pre-order items and the game crashes if I try to go to the settings screen, but after playing the game for a while last night, it was worth the trouble. I had a blast. These bugs will get ironed out and the show will start soon. Its only going to get better from here.

I am absolutely happy I bought it.
It`s exactly what I expected after watching a few vids on it.

I wanted to play a PC MMO with a controller, which works perfectly fine, probably a first in the genre.
The shooting works as fine as any single player 3rd person game, which is almost new for a MMOish game as well.
Dynamic events have been my favourite genre improvement the last years, having that mixed with shooter gameplay is nice.

Personally I don`t even mind the much critizised chat...I want to play the game and randomly cooperate with other players, grouping and socializing isn`t what i was looking for here.

Most importantly, I had fun on my day 1 session, and that`s all I want from a game.

I totally regret purchasing the game...but not because of the game.

My wife's been really pissy about my gaming lately and I have not even had the chance to play it yet (did play 360 beta though). Hell, she got pissy with me last night because I threw it in and started installing/patching before we started watching TV. It took me like 5 minutes TOPS to finish that and let it sit while we watched TV. Really? You're going to ***** about that!?

Im totally happy, Im kind of cautious about season pass though, but Im prety sure Trion World does not disappoint me, after 5 DLC theres plenty of content, all those who've played Rift knows how they do things. Im dreaming something like they triple the landmass etc.

So far I'm very happy with the game, everything has been fun so far. I haven't had any bad issues with the game functioning, yet. The few patches that came out on launch day actually made me happy because it means they are actively watching and working on it and won't hesitate to fix an issue or change something the community asks for, like ammo boxes and large arkfalls. I'm assuming this game will grow as the episodes come out, per episode tie-ins maybe? They announced that there will be free and pay DLC's. Trion did great with releasing content for Rift so I trust they will do the same here. So anyone that thinks the game lacks features or content, stick around and see what they add.

I am happy after so many gaming let downs in the last few years I try to not get too over hyped about new games. I played the beta PC and xbox like it enough to buy. It's not going to change the world but I enjoy it and that is what counts

I like it. Like many persistent world games (avoiding the MMO tag) only time will tell though. It's rough on some edges (interface) and itemization is a bit lacking in diversity. But these things can be tweaked.

Hahahahahaha. Dude, thats totally my life at times. But my wife finally got used to the fact that Im a gamer. Get over it. She gets home from work around 3:30-4. I get home closer to 5. Between dinner, playing with my daughter, getting her ready for bed and any chores to do around the house, it is now 7:30-8pm. Kid goes to sleep, wife retreats to facebook and 'Moms corner' type of websites. ER, OK I'll hop on the computer and shoot at things.

    Tidy arrangement these days.

I know what youre going through haha.

I love the game and am extremely happy with my purchase! It is not often that I can say I had fun in an MMO on launch day for one, and having played many an MMO, I know a lot can change from Vanilla, even more so from the first day. :p So a game that I enjoy from day one? Yes... definitely happy I bought the game.

At first I got bored fast. Now I'm getting "addicted" like I used to be to WoW. Its only been a few days but I can't wait to find my next really nice weapon, to unlock the perfect combination of passives, to find out where this story goes, to visit the locations I see on the map that I just haven't gone to yet, to find where people are buying these buggy cars and buy one for myself, etc. etc..

Basically I keep trying to find excuses for why its like every other MMO I've bought and played and left since I "quit" WoW (including WoW itself, which I have gone back to many times but never for more than a few weeks / months). It isn't though. It feels just right, I hope it is finally what I've been looking for in a MMO - the perfect fit. :D

I am happy I bought the game. Having fun playing with friends and enjoying the story and lore a lot. I spent over 300 hrs playing RIFT so I know Trion will fix bugs up and add a lot more content on a regular basis.

For me I look at games this way. Games are a form of entertainment so If I can get a ROI of at least $2 per hr of entertainment then I am happy with my purchase. If I get $1 or less per hour then I am really happy with the game. I never buy games that I am sure I will not get at least the $2 an hr ROI. So far I have played 20 hrs and I expect that I will hit my sweet spot of 60 hrs played and maybe even more.
