Hell, she got pissy with me last night because I threw it in and started installing/patching before we started watching TV. It took me like 5 minutes TOPS to finish that and let it sit while we watched TV. Really? You're going to ***** about that!?

I feel for you bro, but take the advice of a guy who has been marred almost 50 years, It ant gona get better, go but yourself another TV and enjoy.

I just feel the game could of been much better, I think it was over hyped, which hurts everything really. It just don't feel very polished to me.

I'm still playing, and I'm having fun, but I wouldn't of bought it if i had my time back. How about you?

It's way too soon to think about that. Only after Trion irons out the bugs and we all spent some real time playing, can we give a proper assessment. However, I enjoy the game thus.

I played the beta and enjoyed it. Got the full game and loved it. Yes there is some bugs in the game that will be patched, yes there is some bits they could have added like upgrading/ leveling up shields, grenades, vehicles and what not but how happy would you be playing in pvp if you couldn't kill someone because of their over powered shield? Borderlands wouldn't work in pvp. I'm 30 with 2 kids, work and don't have all day or weekend to play so I feel the game is very well balanced. There so much to do in the game there is no way you could do this game in a week unless you have no life and do nothing but play this and even then I don't think you could do it.

Don't forget the game only came out on the 2nd!! Give it a chance, if not got back to playing laggy cob with out of place hit boxs

Another TV wouldn't help me with this. She's made because I "don't spend enough time with her" and our son. I rarely play games before Mark goes to sleep during the week anymore and unless something new (like Defiance) comes out, I don't even game a whole lot in general.

Im ok with Defiance so far, but my only big question is does it have the sustainability it needs to keep people interested long term. Trion did a good job pumping out content in Rift for almost two years, but then they let go of a bunch of employees and things slowed down considerably to the point I'm losing interest. The excitement that we used to see from the developers just isn't there anymore. I'm willing to bet Trion already has a bunch of content ready to go in Defiance to coincide with the tv show, but what will it look like in a year?

Honestly I wish I hadn't bought Defiance. I play on Xbox and the gfx are sub par, the game play and frame rate/ lag issues are off putting and quite frankly the vast majority of console players are less than savoury characters!

I had purchased Defiance to fill the void that SWG had left in my gaming life. Alas due to lack of funds because of an expanding family the only platform I have that can run it is my Xbox.

I can only think Defiance would have been best staying a pc only mmo and keeping as far away from casual console players as possible. I understand the reasons its been bought to multi-platform but it just doesn't work.

Yep, happy I bought it. I enjoy playing and haven't run into any major issues. Glad they didn't go the vertical progression route!

Never been happier. I play a ton of different games, MMO's and genres and I have not been this excited about a game in a long time. I have had a ton of fun and I can't wait to find out what Trion has in store this season.

I think the game is far from release-ready but still just "OK" so far. I don't think it is worth more than $39.95, however. I think the game was rushed out of the door. It feels extremely unfinished and barebones.

So do I regret my purchase? Yes, I do.

    95% satisfied.

There are a couple bugs and glitches, to be sure, but I got what I was expecting when I bought it.

Except midgets. There are no midgets in Defiance's Earth. This needs to be fixed.

*DISCLAIMER: I am not terribly far in the game's storyline, if there ARE in fact midgets, and I have just not gotten far enough to witness them, then I retract this criticism, and my satisfaction raises to 99%

The riot shield Raiders are midgets if that's any consolation. I thought they were just crouching at first, but nope.

You know i was just in Manila and my biggest regret is not going to see the midget boxing.

Absolutely 100% behind my purchase. The fact that it will get even better excites me. Arguably my best Non-mainstream video game puchase since Sniper Elite V2.

I like it so far, bought the season pass as well. Pretty much everything I expected from the game is there.
Major gripe is that voice chat is on by default, no push-to-talk and no option to turn off voice chat completely (you can turn off your own - if it doesn't bug - but you can't turn off listening to other people).
I hope they'll handle the PC version well in patches.

All the guys here complaining about their wives and children complaining about their gaming...

MMO's are not for family people. You choose between your family or the gaming. That doesn't mean you can't get laid by visiting the local bar, night club, etc... That simply means that by choosing an MMO as your choice of game, you are sacrificing the annoying whinge-bags that children and women are for the constant adrenaline rush of gaming.

That being said, I am asexual and I hate children, including despising the thought of what I was 15 years ago.

    'Nuff said.

I am half half on this. I am happy I bought the game because its unique and fun to play with friends. Though I am kind of regretting that I bought a product filled with so many glitches still. Ie. bugged quest objectives, lag, disconnections and those things.

As an owner of both PC and XBOX 360 versions of the games; I'm sastified with what I have~ BUT, of course; the XBOX 360 has a lot of screen tearing and slow frame-rate (which can be patched), as well as bugs.

    I'd say around 80 - 90% sastified sofar.

I am happy with my purchase although I do want to see the bugs fixed soon. I was hooked after the Beta events and I would rather have what I have now than not play the game at all. I am able to get on and spend a couple of hours playing before any issues so it isn't a really bad experience for me.

you are obviously an adolescent. I'm a professional with 3 children, wife, dog etc; own a home do all my landscaping, Rollerblade, dance-yes I'm a freaking spectacular dancer- and still find time to MMO..

its all about balance, too much of one thing is, well, too much,, playing a game all day isn't 'cool' its sad actually

I see your family, and raise you 1 child, and a cat.

Sure, I can't play Defiance like I used to play EverQuest when I was younger and single, but I can still get some pretty decent hours of playtime in. After all, kids and wives do eventually sleep~

Playing games all day is my life choice. My country: the UK allows it. It's sad yes but I love it. :D
But having children in an overpopulated world is not only selfish towards the other people in the world it's also sad as well in my opinion.

I came to the party just before launch and therefore had no expectations other than my clanmates discussing enjoying the beta.

With no hype to colour my perspective then I find it's a pretty solid action game with a decent story so far.
The combat is tough but enjoyable and the arkfalls are great fun.
There are some bugs but the devs are communicating what they're working on and having come from the Simcity launch debacle, that's a nice thing to see.

I happen to be a married to a Marine and we have two daughters. We all enjoy gaming, my youngest can even beat me and my husband's *** in just about everything. On the outside we are the "typical" family (two income household....husband, wife, two kids and pets) but we make it a point of enjoying life. I am also a huge football and MMA fan. Married with children doesn't mean dead!!!

Nice to see another female fan of mma and football! None of the chicks I know like either. Do you watch women's mma too? Invicta's putting on a ppv tomorrow that I'm really excited for!

As a casual gamer, Defiance has been lots of fun for me and hubby so far. I was disappointed with the graphics on the xbox (hubby initially wanted xbox for more gamerscore points). I don't chew through content though so I feel I will get my money's worth outta Defiance. I've even been enjoying watching the Twitch streams with the Trion crew.

Someone struck too out many times to count at the local bar/night club I guess.

Actually I haven't but I may have to check out the PPV. Hubby and I usually hit up a sports bar to have a few drinks and enjoy the crowd for fights. I know quite a few of my friends that enjoy football but most of them were raised almost the same as me (a ton of uncles around). What football team are you currently supporting? I am a diehard Bears fan.

^^^This guy is epic^^^ And I'm a woman. Non-whinebag, single, childless, gaming woman. That likes shooters. Anyway, I'm just wondering where all the tantrum- throwing members got off to? I've read mostly positive replies in this thread. Figured this would've been the perfect place to get it all off your chest. Hmm... And I like this game and my hellbug doll and the art book. It'll get there. Patience, grasshopper. Or maybe I'm just easily amused. *shrugs and walks off*

Not happy I spent $150 on it due in some little part to GS screw up. (I wanted to upgrade to CE, but they upgraded to UE and I couldn't go back to CE cause they were out) Could have gone back to standard, but w/e.

Back in the day when my wife would complain about my game time I'd say "Look Woman! This is my only hobby, my only vice. Would you rather I was out with the guys? or playing poker all night? Now **** and make me a sammich" Well..not the sammich part, but the first part. Seriously..a woman (or man to for that matter) that doesn't allow their spouse/sig other to do what they enjoy, they aren't worth having. Unless they make a mean sammich. Maybe then
