I am thinking a lawyer would be best. I want a refund since I cannot play the game for 2 days. 56 MB download, 7.2 UL, but my ping dances around from 12-456. I really want to call your linux techs Monkeys......
Tethered phone? I am thinking this is why we get throttled. There techs put in a provision for this and , in layman's terms, we are getting ****ed because of hackers...
Why are you throttling my DL Trion? I am seriously thinking about litigation.
Yes I can prove you are throttling.. Trion
Tisk, Tisk, not good
Downloading from the EU at 1,75mb /sec so i guess problems are solved or local ?
Got me UE and started a fresh download now half way after about an hour ,game should be in within an hour now.
Steam won't give me a refund.. See you in court
Yours truly,
I now own Trion. ****ing Monkey's.

One that is close to me.

Currently downloading at 30/60 kb/s. It started at around 7/8 mb/s for about 30 seconds and then it dropped straight to where I am now.
Edit: For all the people that complain about the patcher not resuming: Yes it did that a couple of times for me too. But somehow it fixed itself, and when I continue the download now it starts downloading at 140 mb/s till the point it stopped downloading. Start/close the patcher a couple of times, and open the Patcher.exe file in the same map as where the download files are. Don't know if that is the solution but this is how I did it.
Edit2: Also the post below me confirms that it very quickly 'downloads' the data you already have and then continues. A coincidence we both got it working somehow or did they perhaps fixed it :)
Edit3: It has completed :) Restarting the patcher worked for me. When the speed dropped I pressed cancel and closed it. After a restart it downloaded 3/4 mb/s on average for a couple of minutes, on my best try it downloaded at 7 mb/s for about 4 minutes till it dropped.
Good luck with downloading and see you all in game eventually.
Hey guys, just wanting to spread a little ... hope ??? I've been writing in this thread on post #51, but I wanted to write an update here (closer) to the most recent posts.
My download failed at 10:45 am central time (my time). I killed the patcher, shut down Steam and then restarted my machine. When I got back on, I started the download again (for the FOURTH time since April 2nd). THIS time, it downloaded the portion that had been downloaded previously VERY quickly and is now CONTINUING the download RATHER THAN STARTING OVER!
THIS is what I, personally, have been waiting for. I can handle being patient with my slow download as long as I can have some hope that the downloads will CONTINUE from where they left off, if the connection is lost or there is any kind of failure.

my test results after i got the game on to me PC in about two hours fresh no disk as gold is always to old ;)
Hope you all get the game on your system asap !!!
The patcher does resume in almost all cases, the problem is the patcher will overwrite which ever file it is currently downloading.
example;
Say its currently working on "bundle_4-53.1" which is almost 700MB @ 0.08MB/s.
You pause or close the patcher, and when it resumes, it will overwrite that incomplete file with a brand new "bundle_4-53.1" starting at zero (0) bytes.
You will get a burst of speed when you first hit the Update button, this is the patcher hash checking the files it has download until it comes to the one it was working on and then it will slow right down.
I ran a program to monitor the changes it made, and this was the result.
Unfortunately for most of us it is one of two major problems (or both together);
1.) The patcher downloads at an abysmally slow rate.
2.) Once the patcher completes (or almost completes) there is an error message and it starts all over again.
Cause is probably because Trion was too tight on security or simply did sloppy programing without testing properly. Regardless, I still want to know what's happening. We can now see by all the tests, it is not related to anything on the customer side.
Edit: And no, its not fixed. Mine completed and came up with an error. Its now restarted and ETA is about 1.5 days left.
so, there are only servers in austin, TX, where everybody from the world is downloading the client ? You seriously didn't consider renting a couple servers in, for example, EU, so we can download it from elsewhere ?
And that being said, why didn't you include a peer-to-peer option ... you know ... like in every other mmo on the market lol.

As I've mentioned in Post #51 of this thread, the speed on my patcher has been 0.07 when trying to download the patches. It's been SO slow that the patcher never completed or even came anywhere close to completing. And EVERY time I restarted it would REdownload the previous stuff at 0.07. I was just thrilled this morning when I actually saw it jump up to 75.0 when redownloading the previous patch data, but yes, for me when it was continuing with the download of the new data it went back down to 0.07. It says I've got like a day and a half left to load and as horrible as that sounds, I can live with that if I actually CAN manage to download the full patch and PLAY this frackin' game, eventually. It was a tiny bit of hope, ya know?
But, it is true, I have no idea what to expect when it finishes or gets almost to the end (since it will be a new experience for me). I WANT to believe that some kind of progress is being made and that our problems are being addressed, bit by bit.
I restarted for the third time this morning at 6:00 EST. At 2:50pm EST, it crashed AGAIN, with 12.4 hours remaining on the download.
It is restarting at 1 day, 4 hours remaining on the download.
I want my refund. NOW.
What about those of us who are having no issues with patching but actually logging in?
I am UK based, London on the PC platform and my ISP is talktalk.
Have not been able to play at all, keep getting critical error before character select etc.

they took the server down. it says it on their twitter and on the patch notes that the server is down for maintenance. i dont have a twitter but i still found that checking their page occasionally really is the best way to keep up to date with whatever the hell it is theyre doing. If they are going to warn us about a server shut down, it'll be there first.

patch speed----0.33MB/s
Though here's a hint from a networking guy, Don't lock the transfer rate to MB/s use standard networking which is Mb/s.
.33MB/s is really 2.64Mb/s which is not a bad transfer rate when My Uverse is only 10Mb/s. You might find less complaints. Or alternatively, have the patcher list the number of files and/or data size remaining that might be helpful Cause I would find it helpful in understanding why the patcher needs to run for 3 hours for an update
For those that are not Networking knowledgeable the difference between the "B" and the "b" in the speeds is Bytes and bits. 8 bits make a Byte. Network speeds are measured in bits So your 5,10,20 Meg internet is Megabits per second, not Megabytes so 1/8 what most people think. or 1.2MB/s = 10Mb/s of my Uverse, and remember that is the speed of everything entering the router so if someone else is downloading or watching netflix the patch/download rates are going to be slower.
