Credit where it's due though. The article was well written without any made up nonsense. Just a straightforward explanation of the change and the philosophy behind it. I found it refreshing.
Ohhhhhh Trion :(Quote:
after reviewing the data we see fewer players purchasing lockboxes with both our in-game currency and Bits
So soon we cannot upgrade blue to orange.
So items will drop that can't be upgraded and other items can only be upgraded once.
This change is because they're under the misguided impression that people aren't buying lockboxes as much because of the unlimited rarity upgrades. They couldn't be more disconnected from their playerbase if they tried at this point.
"Solely not a revenue choice." haha... man.
^ I know right. People are not buying lock box's with bits because the drop rate is horrendous and the orange guns you do pull are god awful.
Maybe it's just me but I thought the boxes weren't selling because they seem to suck so bad.
I wonder what this means for things like changing rolls..
Probably nothing. It will increase the appeal of buying dozens of lock boxes only to get an orange item with bad rolls because you can reroll the bad ones. You don't even have to grind for Arkforge to do it because you can buy that from the bit store.....
:::ducks:::
Yeah, seriously. Well, Trion is helping me enjoy Marvel Heroes more and more.
No doubt.
I have never, and will never, purchase a lockbox with Bits. Keys are easy to get, and so is scrip. Well, for now anyway. I'm sure Trick will nerf that as well like he did Arkforge. But I'll uninstall before I am forced to use Bits for a lockbox.
