More along the lines of couldn't afford a decent PC growing up otherwise I probably would have played the EQ and Ultima. I am not saying they are all that way, but SWTOR and Perfect Worlds practices come to mind.Quote:

Why bother getting anything if you just can't play period.
I have played a lot of online games in my life, especially MMOs, and this game, bar none, has been the worst experience I've had when it comes to server issues and disconnections.
A game is NOT good when you go into it knowing full well that the first few attempts at doing anything (in my case, incursions to get the daily done) will end in a disconnect.
It's even worse when the game doesn't let you down and disconnects you 2-3 times before you get into a server that's stable, wasting who knows how much time since your moronic server system doesn't even put players back in the same server, making them literally waste all their time doing anything they were doing because they can't go back to what they were doing, there is no cash out if you d/c, nothing. The game just laughs at you as it wastes your time, and thus, not waste your money.
THAT'S why I personally don't spend money on the game. They can change whatever system they want, they can price whatever they want to whatever stupid price, they can say anything they want, but I am not dropping a dime until your servers are stable and I can log into the game NOT thinking I'll disconnect within 5 minutes.
Of course, with this being an issue since the games launch, I have little hope of that actually changing now. Thus, I save even more money. I get to go spend it on other games like DC Universe, Guild Wars 2 even though their gems are overpriced, and sure, I'll buy some GoG because I KNOW I CAN PLAY THEM FOR LONGER THAN FIVE MINUTES!
I'll keep logging into this game and going to things like incursions and getting maybe, 1k points if that, run and hide in a corner and just sit it out, every time, because what's the point in participating when you think you'll get booted and end up on another server.
/clap Bravo Trion for giving me the worst server experience in gaming so far, and I own a PS3 and played Playstation Home. You really have to be trying hard to beat that.
How you can have such a stable game like Rift and have the bizzaro opposite with Defiance blows my mind.
I think, in the end, that would be a good income idea. Make the game stable so people feel they can participate and thus reward the company for a good experience. Crazy idea I know. :S
