EGO Cap Returns

Given that I only have 5 more EGO from 1 pursuit to hit the current "cap," I do find that it sucks to know that none of the upcoming Silicon Valley pursuits will really end up doing me any good, as I stop gaining EGO levels very soon.

As long as we get credit for them in any future EGO cap raises, I'm alright with that. As long as the cap isn't WAY below the true maximum, I guess my thought is . . . "meh." Just don't let the mathematical cap be something like 6200 and keep it at an artificial 5900. That would be asinine.

The only problem I had with the current system is that I have 100% of the available pursuits done but I'm at EGO 5851, but I have clan mates who have higher ego since they got credit for pursuits that are no longer in the game. This made is impossible for them to trade me their newer gear as it was above my ego and it was impossible for me to get to their ego. I think the max should be based on the total of all AVAILABLE pursuits.

Most of us already knew it was going to be around 5900 from the get-go. Here's what they DIDN'T tell you. That 5900 EGO cap is ONLY attainable if you own ALL DLC (for pursuits) AND you never missed out on ANY bonus content that was time sensitive meaning if you ever took an extended break from the game or only recently joined, you can NOT reach 5900 EGO. Now if you don't own the DLCs and participated in the time sensitive events, you will most likely only reach 5600-5700 as your max EGO rating.

Also for people who hit that max exp bar cap before the EGO cap was raised, you lost out on free EGO as well. I submitted a ticket about this a long time ago and the GMs at the time had no idea what I was talking about and had no solution for it. I am one of the few who suffered from this bug. I reached the previously max EGO of 5k before the 1st DLC was released and still was gaining exp normally and when it filled up, you would normally get EGO ratings from it. I was not since I had already reached 5k, thus I was losing out on EGO when the level cap got raised. Many others suffered the same but most had already left the game. I only play a few times a month nowadays b/c well, there isn't any reason to keep playing day after day like I used to b/c content is released at a snail's pace.

Anywho, enjoy the game guys. If you can look past the fact that if you're new, you will NEVER reach that 5900 EGO then this game is great for you.

Are you forgetting how lousy it was to be capped at 5000 before they introduced real vertical progression into the game? The rewards for your high EGO are way better than they were back then.

This will also make your stuff more marketable to sell or trade (which will matter now that they've introduced encryption into the game) and share with friends. They said that they will periodically raise the cap as well which means you'll have a head start on some of the other capped players when they do.

Cool.

I would really like if they changed the "friends" list to in-game only. Adding PSN friends is a severe lack of privacy, so I'll never get my social pursuits done.

More important questions, is the weapon scaling increased up to 5900 ? At the moment it's pointless to upgrade weapons past 5500 anyways.

Not true. The removed pursuits took out 35 EGO. Someone without those is at a max of 5851 right now, with only 49 to go until the cap, with more Season 2 episode pursuits and Silicon Valley pursuits on the way. Unless you are of the belief that we'll get less than about 10 more pursuits while the 5900 EGO cap exists, that's incorrect.

I often agree with updates, but this is really bad change.

Just another reversal in a series of reversals in response to...to what? Accounting people telling the creative team to make cash happen? Or is it in response to a complete lack of technical skills? Why not just BRING BACK THE MISSING 35 EGO levels pursuits from season one? Why CAN'T you do that? Going back to hard cap is yet again, reversing a decision. I get the idea the team can't see more than 5 yards in front of their faces and have NO IDEA what the results of these decisions could be when they make them. In my month here I've seen so much weird confusing shtako decisions I'm glad I only tried F2P. Zero plans on spending any money to continue playing this game, I'll just putz with it a month or so yet and they back to my console for a REAL quality game. Which will make sense and have continuing progression, not this schizo knee-jerk stuff. Terrible and confusing and just...inexplicable.
