Still no FOV option ?

I came back to give the game another chance. After logging in, i instantly looked for a FOV option, found nothing, played 2 min and left.
I would have expected this to be adressed by now (It has been requested by PC players since beta).

Well, i won't play DEFIANCE with this FOV on PC. No way.

Trick plays on a console, sadly. Never owned one myself, but i bet those types don't know or even care what the acronym stands for. Ignorance is bliss, as they say.
It does widen out a bit when you run...

This is the first 3D game i have played in many a year (possibly ever) that did not have an .ini file where i could change graphics numbers to suit my advanced hardware, and i blame the fact that it is a console game. Did you get a load of that UI ?!?
Even Oblivion and Fallout 3 had all kinds of settings to tweak in the .ini files. I could make shell casings stay around for hours and the textures for the bullet holes on walls from the shots i missed, too. Crank up the draw distance and the distance trees and grass were rendered and when they switched to the full quality meshes. Well, also there were prostitutes that sold ***-worthy XXX action, but that is beside the point. Adjusting the FOV is the first and standard tweak i'd make to any game and if anyone knows a hack or any way to adjust it to a proper setting please contact me !

That's a bit odd, really. I can understand playing on a more limited platform for testing purposes, but when you're the creative lead surely you would want to see all that the game can offer, on its best platform?

Having played games both PC and console, I actually prefer console myself. Yeah. I said it.

Agree actually all 3 platforms should be played! How can they ever know how their game is performing otherwise?

Agreed, and i'm just going by what he says on the livestreams, he says 360 is what he plays on and you see the colored buttons on the UI and can tell by the way the camera moves that he uses a controller.

And sorry, that did sound pretty condescending. In my defense i'm a real b!tch when i'm sober. Just something i've noticed over the years socializing with PC nerds and console people. Not here to start any battles, no offense intended.

Oh you're correct Trick does play on Xbox.

And LOL we're gamers we can't stand people, ALL people, right?
While it is true that in general PC gamers understand more of the finer points of gaming and programming - just goes with the territory. I prefer PS3/4 play myself, for a variety of reasons. But, being more curious than most I've added a ton of acronyms and tech-talk to my vocabulary just by participating and researching.

Yeah. No.

It's priorities, pure and simple, consoles could do FOV just fine. If Trion can't make the servers stable, an FOV slider is out of the question.

i consider it a hilarious byproduct of the ever waging debate over the superior gaming platform. Not too many things make me laugh these days, crude as it is.

Not sure about "people" but i said that i bet it is because the main man behind the game is a console guy. I've not owned one since the SNES so i honestly do not know if console games let you adjust it. But in all the games i can think of it's always an option in an external .ini file, not a slider in-game to adjust.

But yes, i'm sure you are correct in saying that it's priorities. If trick wanted or needed an FOV adjustment it would have been around in alpha.
