I can understand the new encryption mechanic. You want add some of the chase of obtaining good weapons back into the game. Having guns you get off the ground or from lockboxes already encrypted is total BS!!
I recently pulled some nice purples including a nice ground pounder from the corporate espionage box--They were all encrypted. Thanks a lot Trion. Congrats on releasing the newest Fun-Sucker Patch and driving players away.
Trick mentioned during the last Livestream that post-patch loot or lockbox yields would have a 1/4 to 1/5 chance of NOT being encrypted.
Which means not only do lockboxes take more time to purchase via ingame currency, but their contents have not improved and in the very unlikely situation they may yield something potentially valuable, it is more than likely to be impossible to upgrade them.
Yes, that one too...is ridiculous......I just start a new character doing majors only to test this....and guess what ego 20 to ego 584 ....results 71 keys and 39 arkforges, the open tier 4 got a PURPLE VBI Ar bio survilist 2x Crit...ego power on a kill GUESS WHAT..,!!!?????:( ENCRYPTED...REALLY..!!!!????
Why not just remove the Upgrade if thats what you wanted!! OMG I didn't notice dropped items being encrypted I auto salvaged everything below purple its all JUNK!! Now i learn even Purple Items are JUNK!!
Not gonna lie. So happy I have every gun I really wanted. Got a couple saws, grind fragger, Wolfy, Sumi and of course my Detu Ara and EMC XAR-22. I would be royally miffed if I didn't have them before this lol.
Items from lockboxes have a better chance of not being encrypted......more like everything is encrypted, what's joke this game has become. May as well just remove the upgrade rarity feature. Best part is that I WAS buying arkforge occasionally to upgrade some blues or remaster items or upgrade the ego rating.......now? Not another penny will be dropped on this waste of a game (shopping simulator)

They dont seem to grasp the fact encryption was really a nerf to lock boxes.
