Was there just a while back and nothing seemed to spawn, only the crystal you are supposed to protect.... Yet when it ended I got 7th legion gear yay....... For basically doing nothing..

Hellbugs will come to them (I mean from quite far away too) and you have to take them out. If you fail (or maybe no matter what) the crystal will explode and several pheromone secreters will pop up, kill them and you win.

No hellbugs came.......... There were two of these events one at the carparks in silicon valley...... That one did have hellbugs but they were not moving at all due to lag........

At the other event I was at no hellbugs arrived..

Lag seems to be the biggest game issue.

Make sure it has the Incursion sign over it. If it has that new marker on it, it seems that that particular place is finished.

Pretty sure it's no matter what, same mechanics are the conversions.

Have to echo the OP though, went to one and only saw individual skitterlings arrive, one every 15 seconds or so. Was boring so I didn't wait around.

You are lucky. Mine had no skitterlings or other hellbugs but ended and I still got rewards

While you are in the big yellow circle you are getting rewards for anyone completing any of the small circles. Anything you do within the big circles counts towards your score that you get rewards for, e.g. roadside emergencies. It's a bit strange but who am I to complain...

Was I with you last night? probably about 12 hours ago I did one and everyone looked a little confused.

Basically it's the same as the Evangel event, except we're used to seeing those things pop up when we get there because the invasion succeeded.

The 99ers have crystals that pop, and need to be defended, and if they aren't, evangels spawn.
The one we saw was stage 1, and we won the event so stage 2 didn't happen requiring us to clean it up, as detailed below there would have been pheromone pods to kill if we had failed.

Im not one to spend time posting in forums, Id rather spend my time playing the game, But the Hellfire/Hellbug Extraction and Miner Conversion/Miner Disciples have got to be the most confusing bass ackwards events in the whole game so I just had to comment.

Unlike the Paradise and San Francisco Incursions, the Hellfire and Conversion part of the event is what counts for the 7th legion pursuits and contracts. If you show up late and they've already taken out the crystal/ark core you dont get credit. They can get take them out in less than a minute after the timer starts, a little longer if there is lag.

It is completely possible to stop the hellbugs and miners from taking out the crystal/ark core, I've done it successfuly many times. But its not easy; having lonewolfed them with my character at 5368 ego I found that there are around 400 miner spawns for each of the 3 areas (down from 500 pre-patch) the bugs seem to vary between 200 to 300 for each of the 3 areas. When you are successful, Hellfire has a timer and you will see the count down just before Hellbug Extraction starts. Miner Conversion does not have a timer, so Miner Disciples will not start. It seems to sit there forever, I usually hop to a different shard.

If you have a low ego level character you should not engage any enemies during the incursion phase, Hellfire/Miner Conversion. You should just drive thru each of the little yellow circles and hope that someone else completes them. I found out the hard way with my character at 1170 ego that recent changes to scoring (but not penalties) can cause you to get nothing when it ends, no score no drops, no reward, nada, zero, zip, bumpkis. This is because the first parts are so short and the number of enemies so great that you when you go down the scoring penalty of -3000 for incapacitation/extraction is excessive and the result is a waste of game playing time. Also note that there are so many enemies during these that you may not want to use self revive at the lower levels of ego as once you get knocked down they keep knocking you down while you lay there on the ground causing you go right back down upon reviving.

Overall with my high level character I find these incursions to be very entertaining, I really enjoy cutting down wave after wave of attackers. With my low level character its nothing but a frustrating waste of time.

    Hope this info helps.
