    Question about Certain Weapons!
So, Apparently using a VOT Spanner Protector makes you hated, Or at least that is what I was told by some Veterans in another thread. So.. quick question, What other weapons make you hated, and why? What what and effect does it have that causes people to hate others using it?

Besides the Spanner Protector, which is because the 'blinding blue healing light, and Protection grid'

Edit: Please be Specific with details.

Any weapons that blind everyone, and anything other than an optimal DPS loadout for Warmaster

BMGs in general but especially Spanner Protector.
    Reasons:
-The healing light, especially when lots of people use them, tend to blind other players.
-Ruin their perks (some perks require shields being broken).
-Cause lag (at least it used to, not so sure now).
-Score boosting is easy because you get healing/teamwork points without having to do a whole lot of actual damage (if attacking).
The Protector: The Protector is especially annoying because the bubble plus the healing light is blinding, the bubble has the tendency to stick around and it may still be bugged where you have it but it doesn't really work.

Volge Weapons in general. Especially when lots of people did Warmasters.
    Reasons: Similar to BMGs.
    -The light
-The lag were issues for people.
Warmaster: They were used to rack up tons of points but didn't do sufficient damage.

    Oh and possibly the Bloodhound.
    Reason:
-If someone is near the explosives it tends to jiggle the screen.
-I think it also blinds people who are close to whatever is getting hit by the rounds.

Now if you want to talk about PvP....well that can be quite a list.

    Gotta agree with Griffix here.

The Volge weapons, while they are a "cool" novelty, just don't do the DPS that is required for most usage. The sniper rifle might be the exception to that rule as far as crit pnts go, but since the nerf, aren't much better than some others in game.

The new Defiant Few weapons are a pain too, like the BMGs they cause lag and are a pain in the @$$ when doing the co op missions.

Edit. Trion are doing thier best to make the game more stable and reduce lag and yet introduce these weapons.

Would like to know if any real thought goes into these thing except wow that'll be cool.

Fun fact: with 4 of us doing it, we crashed our xboxes using nothing but crimefighters doing a motherlode on expert... every time we did it (that was pre-.205 though, havent done it since then)... and we did it about 12 times... just for giggles.

Also, with a group of 6 of us at an seige in china town (no-one else there... just us) we used nothing but crimefighters... it was HELL. Lagged, Blinded, and feeling mildly sickly from the screen shake, we all decided to NEVER use them again... except on friends who were snoring down the mic in party... we still use them then.

You can turn the screen shake off in the game settings. Still annoying, but explosives I can deal with, yet protectors make me leave instances (or afk in a corner).

I don't mind any of them. Maybe a little if I am going melee but that does not happen in a full party / high treath around.

However, I understand the hate. I always ask in a full group stuff like "Is BMG alright with you guys ?". The only time I use the blind weapons without asking is at affflicted incursions. Most people use it there and it is the most effective way to do them. Plus people who hate these weapons rarely come to these incursions (or stay to much for that matter).

However the hate should be on the visual effects brought by the game (e.g. the implementation/ lack of a fix), not the users who decide to use them. Keep in mind ...we are talking about 30% of the weapons here.

I agree, mostly. Some users, however, should be hated on when they not only add nothing to a team effort to kill something, but actively damage the team effort (ala bmgs in a warmaster and the perk "kill or be killed"). However, if trion fixed the lag/visual problems with these weapons, in 99% of cases I wouldnt care what someone brought to the table in terms of guns. I dont like the idea of cutting anything in terms of content from people, its limited enough after you have been here a year and a half. I especially dont like the idea of "hating on" anyone for simply playing the game, but these issues are things Trying could fix with a little forethought. Simply giving people the OPTION to turn visual effects like BMGs off, or tone them down, would be key here I think.

Well, at least for the BMGs they could just be left-clicking and actually contribute something to the fight, instead of right clicking and contribute nothing instead of a lot of grief.

Don't get me wrong, I fully understand that those right-click BMGs are perfect for score-whoring without drawing any aggro, and you can argue that that's a game issue, but it still takes someone to decide to actually play the game that way, so it's the player's responsibility as well.
