Am I the only one who likes to drink milk? :)

My favorit drinks while playing games (no priority list, just random):
    Milk, tea, water....sometimes juice, too.

    Mexican Coke.
Which is really any Coke made with real sugar instead of processed artificial sweeteners. Which includes High Fructose Corn Syrup.

It takes better and actually a bit healthier then those other cokes, plus you're not fooling yourself into thinking you're saving yourself a ton of calories so it's ok to have that extra chocolate cupcake. Remember, a normal serving of Coke, even with the real sugar, is still only about 100 calories. Though admittedly I tend to drink a lot more then a normal serving, but then I don't believe in diets.

When I want a true calorie free alternative to Coke, I go with unsweetened iced tea.

Water, tea, or juice is what I do. Plus I wouldn't touch diet soda, I don't do sweeteners or aspartame.

Sugar (or carbs) are going to negatively affect you in the long run, regardless of what you choose to drink. The sedentary lifestyle that so many of us are accustomed to makes it very easy to snack and binge on sugar or carbs constantly. The body's response to all of that glucose is to produce insulin. Sooner or later, your body may become resistant to the insulin response and *BOOM* diabeetus (you know you read it in Wilford Brimley's voice)!

Check out ketogenic diets, specifically high-fat, low-carb foods. There's a very helpful community over at reddit (/r/keto). You can always exercise self-control, even if you can't get to gym.

In any case, regardless of what diet or food you eat, glad to see some nutritional discussion around these parts.

Only time I drink soda is when there's whiskey or rum accompanying it :)
