yes, sort of.

There is 1 North American (NA) server and 1 EU (european) server.

We can plan on either as we like though

it's not the "server" you might be used to with other MMO type games. there is one central database with all of the character info on it, and when you load, you're placed on a random physical server with X number of people on it to balance the load evenly. they try to automatically place you on the same physical server your friends/guildmates are on whenever possible. doing it this way eliminates server transfers, low population/high population servers, server mergers, etc, and means you shouldn't have to worry about one particular server being down, since, they're all identical

Unfortunately I a few times I end up finding myself on a server that is quite empty, barely anyone running around, zero queues moving for pvp, and co-op maps not popping.

Is there a way to manually switch? Playing at prime time and not being able to pvp is pretty sad on day 2 of release.

You're never on one server for long... you're constantly being moved around as you play and move around as i understand it. PvP or co-op queues aren't limited to the one server shard you're on, it goes across all of them. not sure why the queues were empty

don't confuse server with the "shard" or"phase"

Server = NA or EU
Shard/Phase = immediate local vicinity ie immediate local zone not map-wide but immediate area

Servers cannot transverse each other shards/Phases are just duplicates of populated versions of the local instance

That's strange when myself and my friend have been waiting in queues Shadow Wars there have only been a few people in it, we also seem to always be in low populated phases/shards.

it shouldn't matter, because it pulls from anyone queued/online for the region I"m pretty sure. I would assume it's a general connectivity issue or something, can't say for sure, I haven't tried either yet myself

We we'll continue with the mission and let it pass, i'm sure if it's something their end they'll sort it out.

same servers just the one just different phases and i think there engine works well to support it
