I find it oddly hilarious how the longer this goes on the more and more the spam becomes utter gibberish

Apparently someone has a need for black magic to resolve husband and wife conflicts or he surely would have given up by now.

Just want to say, you guys have been really good about zapping this stuff over the last week or so. Aside from the one morning I logged in and found 8 pages of it, I haven't seen any since. Good job!

I like clean forums, we can see that the volume of spam hasn't cleared, but the visibility of it has been reduced - Stats.

Probably not a dude, but a computer automaticly generating these kind of spam on many forums, just to make money for a dude in case a few stupid people actually call this number. And these programs are getting smarter by the day, once upon a time Captcha was enough to filter real people from spambots, sadly this isnt the case anymore. There are a few solutions to this though:

- Change the verifying system for new accounts on a very regular base (every day).
- Ask for a confirmation-code send to a real mail-adress every log-in, iow verify it's you.
- Captcha after each post/thread.
- Limit the amount of threads someone can start each day to 1 (or 2).
- Perma-ban the spambots that got through.

Or just manually remove the spam several times per day, that also seems to work ;)

manual account confirmation via CM's or some future ingame means for creating new threads and captcha for every post until you get, let's say, 50 of them.
also can help with pack of threads with 1-2 replies each about the same issue after another patch goes live.

The person behind these threads must realise that his actions are just pissing up off and will have little or no consequences to Trion. People are still playing the game.

The spammer has been spamming dozens of forums. I looked into a bit and even WoW is getting hit with the spam. So before people start complaining about Trion not doing enough, think... if even WoW that huge multimillion dollar game is having trouble with the spam, what is Trion to do?

I ignored the poster yet I still see it's posts here.


Should we all post and read stuff on another forum ?

I did not mean to sound as if you were complaining I was saying that it would be hard for trion to do much of anything.
