Is this issue going to be fixed?

I know you guys have heard this a thousand times, but I'm genuinely curious.

On the Xbox 360 and PS3, do the devs understand that everyone looks the same most of the times? Is this something that has been addressed and may be fixed in the future?

I've heard about it being a performance issue, but this REALLY breaks the immersion. Playing as a female for my sake of fun and diversity is in vain, because only I can see what I look like. Oh, and forget about buying outfits! :( If I look like a default character like everyone else because of performance issues (which I can understand), im afraid I won't be playing this game much longer.

On the contrary. This became a problem later on after they realized it was too much. When the game went live, on launch day, i remember seeing everyone in thier different outfits. It was really cool. Ppl would be like, "hey what outfit is that, i want it". Even most minors would go off without seeing any defaults..... and majors back then, there were plenty where you saw everyones outfits. Then at some point when it started getting worse, character models would flicker back amd forth from defaults to different. Untill finally every arkfall and crowded fast travel was nothing but defaults. It got progressively WORSE since launch. Even beta phase wasnt as bad as it is now. Allot of things in this game have gone downhill, as other things have gone uphill.......... i agree its terrible to just see defaults, and it makes spending bits on outfits a waste since you cant show em off. But ya know what? If the game performs better because of it. Im ok with it. The one thing i hate more than defaults..........is DC's and crit errors. Lol.
Maybe they will fix it one day, but untill then its a minor problem to trion.

Basically, your choice is between seeing players who all look the same or not seeing them at all.

What you see on your screen is not what other people see.
The only time people look default on my screen is during holiday arkfalls when there are a good 30 players or more AND the BMGs are out. Otherwise, I see the characters and outfits of other players. My husband's PS3 and screen is right next to my ps3 and screen, on the same internet, and we dont see the same things on the screens either.

I am fine with the reason why we see default characters. However Op does have a point.

ALL characters can be seen as the default MALE. Would it be hard to add the coding to make it so, if characters are forced to render as a default character, that the women would render as a default female instead of a default male?

Also, why does it seem like when I'm at stops like Overpass, everyone is the generic guy? There should be less memory being consumed here as there are no enemies or battle taking place - other than some spastic firing or a duel here and there. Right? But these rest areas would be a good time to be able to actually see who you are playing with, trading with, or talking to.

Hmmmm... Option 2 please!

Hmmm...why don't we see a generic vehicle when 100 people show up to a Major, but when 5 players are standing out in the middle of no where, they look like the generic male?

When I am with friends or clan mates I see them and their gear fine. Only when I go to major spawned events like Arkfalls that have 30+ players do I start to see default avatars. And to be honest. During those events I could care even less what the other play looks like as long as the are shooting at the enemy and NOT the sky.... or the ground. (You players know who you are..lol)
