Does anyone know how big a cut (if any) EA asks for ingame-transactions in Origin titles?
If I remember that correctly Guild wars 2 never made it to Steam because Valve was asking too high a cut on ingame-transactions.

I hate when actions are done like this just because of money. Consumers should have a choice on where they buy things.

Knowing EA and the Greed Collective™, it's probably up there. A good indication of how money crazy they are is looking at the SWTOR Cartel Market. The prices there just keep spiraling upwards. $18-24 a pop for a mount (per character!!), $14-15 for recolored gear. $10 for color crystals.

It's gotten completely ridiculous since it opened.

I imagine they're taking a significant piece of the pie, right from the top, for anything they sell via Origin.

This game on Origin. *Shudders* I absolutely HATE Origin and EA. I can't believe Trion would want to get in bed with them on this. Even if just to sell it at retail price.

Origin is garbage, can't believe it's on there, but I guess they want to stretch out to a max amount of audience as they can. I hope it turns up on steam because if it's on origin and not steam I'll be fuming!

    ?

This isn't because of money and greed, it's to get it to a wider audience, and it does no harm having it on other distribution services. It's also a good way to market it because it'll come up in the steam news pop-up (if it goes on) and on the front page, sparking curiosity in people who otherwise knew nothing about it. You still have choice where you buy the game regardless, and if you purchased it elsewhere, this is a moot complaint because it doesn't effect you in the slightest.
