Many players can't continue the story because the mission ''Old Friends, Old Swords''

I have been stuck on this mission since last night and have posted two ''Support desk'' and one bug report. This is a major problem for those who want to continue the story, because the NPC's have bugged out. The first objektiv is to save two ranchers from some raiders guarding them. But the ranchers got stuck when they got saved and began to go back and forth on one place and have been like this since last night and haven't been rested. So if an admin read this PLEASE fix this as soon as posible because there are many people waiting for you to fix this!

Bump this please I agree this is a main Story quest and no one I've seen since the crash last night has been able to move past this quest please fix.

same problem with me the rancher isn't there so i can't even save him the raiders keep spawning but no rancher was waiting there for 1 hour must of had like 15 people there just waiting as well. i asked them they have same problem as well.

What platform?

I actually had a problem with the mission near the beginning of the game. "Chaos Begins" or something.. I kept going to the waypoint but it would not trigger the cutscene. I created a new character and went through tutorial and when I loaded my old character again the mission finally worked. Before doing this I had tried logging out, dashboarding, even restarting my Xbox 360.

This is on PC

this is indeed an issue, i abandoned the mission and redid it and it's still not working

The mission is now working. I'm happy that this issue is now solved.

Anyone else confirm this is now working on the 360?

I attempted it 5 times after/during dashboarding, logging out and abandoning it

I've been having a problem finishing the mission "Into the Bunker." I get to the point where it looks like I'm suppose to open a locker but there is no way to do so. I have the PC version.

nope, it's still broken... (PC)

some missions kan be finished when stuck if you quit and relog. ... unfortunately by ''Old Friends, Old Swords'' this is not working (PC)

I just managed to complete it. If you still have trouble, try switching a phase to jump to a friend and see if that works

I have the same issues I try to do breaking into San quiten mission and it allows me to start it but when I do there is nothing like it is already done but I abandon it and it won't spawn my vehicle and it won't let me see any other players and the enemies on the mission before that kept running but I was in cover and they were able to hit me when I wasn't even facing them (xbox360).

I am playing on the PC and I am stuck in the same place it is the Wayland ranch mission getting torc to joins.

Yup, ranchers aren't there, tried several times just now

This is now on PS3 as well... The game glitches out ... It has happened doing side quests a lot, you gotta abandon mission and start over. But this one just has about 20 morons sitting where the ranchers are waiting for a miracle to happen. Everyone just needs to abandon the mission and leave the area probably

right now on the 360 this mission is bugged and its rly annoying caus id love to continue on with the main questline but cant caus it saids to save the rancher but when u get there and kill the raiders there are now rancher to save so trion plz fix this


its fix now they restarted the server and it fixed

i beat this mission, for me it was the guy getting stuck healing the people in the barn. i let him go down every time he went to heal someone then I revived him. it reset him and then he would finish and move on to the next person.

PS: this is on PC

Mission is still bugged on the Xbox 360 as of 3:40am EST. Have attempted to self fix by restarting mission, logging out then back in, dash boarding and re doing patches, "phase jumping", and more.

Any word from dev's if this quest is getting looked at/hot fixed (old friends, old swords)? I went to the farm and cleared the entire place of side quests and the mobs just keep spawning with no sign of the ranchers. Aside from this bug this is an incredible game.

Platform: PS3

I play the game on ps3 and i had the bug too. You can easily fix it. You just have to start the mission and go to the field. If the rangers aren't there, lougout and log in again. You now should be in the phase where the rangers are available.

I play on Xbox 360 and can't progress either.

Also submit a ticket in game, while also posting it on here. Hooah! if I run across that mission I'll submit a ticket as well, and wherre is this mission in what act if you can remember?

Having a different issue entirely on this mission (PS3). I'll start it and it'll play the first cutscene with Von Bach stepping on the mine and once I'm allowed to go into Torc's shop, the next scene that plays is all black (subtitles still show) with a rare orange SFX coming on screen. When the game gives me control again, it's still all black with a few odd glows. I've abandoned the mission but nothing changes until I log out and log back in (if I don't abandon the mission and log back in, it'll still be 'blacked out'). When I bring up my menu/map, that loads fine during this state. I can even see my HUD but the rest of the screen is black.

I'm also kind of afraid to send a support ticket in game cause last time I tried, my PS3 froze =\

So, I gave McGyversson's suggestion a shot and nothing. I abandoned the quest, restarted it and once inside tork's shop BAM just what SlashZaku said, the screen was all black. Logged out and back in, my screen was fine. With haste I made my way to the farm and still no ranchers. I logged out and back in ON the farm and still no ranchers. Oddly, I keep getting the "experience notifications" from a previous quest, thinking that with my logging I completed the OP quest. Unfortunately, I cannot proceed with the in-game quest line; fortunately, there's still a lot to do in-game. I can't complain to the dev's because they have a lot on their plates. I'll make use of this time and complete side quests. =P

Thats a good idea. Maybe you should try it with a friend. I was in a group with a friend and he still had the problem as i didn't. He teleported to me (joined my phase) and it worked. This is very uncool bug^^

BUMP not working on ps3 please help!

on PS3, cant trigger once i get to the marker in the field. Tried abandoning the quest, everything.

I've been stuck on this quest since yesterday. No luck in relogging, exiting game completely or in abandoning quest then relogging or exiting game. I guess on just has to cross ones fingers that the devs gets to it so we can finish and catch up before the series starts.

just abandon the Mission and restart it. iv had a few bugs like that, but restarting it seems to help.

The ranchers get despawned in some phases. Like the mailbox in Top-Notch. Just fast travel to the nearest location, this puts you into a random phase, then go check to see if they are there. Rinse and repeat until you get it.

I know it's annoying, but they were there on my second try so they can't be that bad.

It has worked on passed quests but not this one. No point doing it more than 5-6 times... if it didn't work the first time the next 4 times is a waste of time :P Then it's better to just go do Arkhunting and those random helping events and just wait it out till one of my friends finally buys the game and catches up so i can phase in or out and pray that works :P
