You are not alone. Have you been playing Defiance and have no social interaction/ teamwork at all? I have been playing Defiance for the past 2 days and I have not met one person who communicates in chat. I'm hoping to get a few people to play Defiance with so I hope you will join me on my teamspeak since obviously the in-game voice quality is very low.

If you guys are attempting to get in contact with other Defiance players you should check out theneedwant.com. It's a website Alaric made for this specific reason. Kind of like a Facebook for the Defiance community. :)
