now fix clan chat/area chat
Clarification: are you talking area voice chat, or just text?
I kinda wonder if people realize what area voice chat would be like if it was implemented.
Arkfalls of 60 random people, and you want to hear them all? And their music? And their siblings yelling at them? Etc. Etc.
I, for one, would immediately mute area chat, forever. (Just my opinion)

Problem with that, is the UI on PS3 is not conducive to mass text chat. They could certainly add filters, text size/format settings to help.. but there's only so much you can do with 720P.Quote:

No way that would suck being in a group and not being able to talk.. On area though yes this needs to stay keyboard only there is to mmany people. For instance Dust 514 has it right keyboard for local and voice for Corp and group chat.Quote:

The group voice chat is still not working for me. I was in a group and it worked for like 10 mins then it cut out. So unless I'm doing something wrong. I would say voice chat is still down.

Glad Sledge came down from his tower to assure me in my biggest issue in this game, the unstable voicechat. Nice, most dev's/representatives wont take the time to address a complaint on the forums and clarify. Good to see they actually care! Played Evony for years, they didnt even respond to direct complaints mailed to them through the supportpage. Unless you reclaimed your paypal-payment for coins lol, then you did receive a mail and an accountban hahaha :D
Anyways, voicechat is big for me. By the time i get my fingers on the keyboard ill be shot 200 times and find myself back at the extraction point. I hate typing while playing and will most likely not even read the chat, any chat. Let alone respond to it through chat. For me, no mic = no game.
So essentially you're saying that the quality of voice chat has been much improved, however the voice chat is still sporadic, unreliable and still seems to permanently cut out? Ah well... baby steps in the right direction at least! I'm still holding off on a purchase and keeping an eye on the forums, but it does seem that the devs are acknowledging issues and working hard to fix them, so it's promising.Quote:

Just had a 2 hour session with my mate and the voice is much clearer, a vast improvement and so far no cut outs! We were having them after 15 to 20 mins. So I have to say well done, still needs completely fixing if it is still cutting out for some.
On a side note DICE took forever to get a handle on the PS3 mic issues, which have plagued developers. Hopefully the PS4 won't have such issues.
I have a feeling ps4 will have a voice chat room which works all the time like currently the text chat works. I think with 8 GB's of ram there can be quite a many programs running when playing.Quote:
