Even battlefield 3 wich is a standard shooter has a chat box that is always visible when ppl write, and its also a ps3 and xbox game, not once has it been uncomfortable to see it there...i dont get why they dont add it here in some corner...they always have the option to hide for those that are bothered by it, bubbles and other chat types, have always been optional, so who doesnt like it can just disable it.

It doesn't help with actually seeing what people are saying, but it does help prevent you from accidentally typing something into clan chat that was meant for group or area.

I tried that and it didn't seem to work. It could be my keyborad set up, but it uses standard UK settings, which has never been a problem.

I just hope that if enough people are using a PC to play the game (always thought that dedicated gamers tend to prefer PCs for gaming), then the PC plaform will get more tweaks and updates to the UI etc, to make it easier to use.

Would love to see a more MMORPG option for keybindings too, but that's another topic.

Thats another thing that could use some attention. a more AND clearly visable group invite icon or mini window popping up, press X to accept press Y to decline

I hate relgion but this is a nice quote. "Do to others as you would have them do to you."

    This, big time.

Yes chat is bitty borked, Co-op also, along with the voicechat.

But i've done quite a few story missions with 2 guys i met along the way, where chat didnt go well. So we went for the aim, jump and weapon tactics, you dont need words to see where everyone is going.

Specialy at the later mobs teamwork is pretty handly (as mobs scale with people in the area), it was 2 hours of big fun. So yeah, i'm sure they fixing up chat eventualy, BF3 was borked for weeks on PS3 before you could communicate at all.

It's pretty.. quiet, kind of eerie that way. Unfortunately grouping is a pain due to the phasing too.

Yes, Defiance might as well had been a singleplayer or co-op game like Borderlands. No MMO in it anywhere.

The game is a console port so it doesn't surprise me that the chat system is terrible. They expect everyone to be using a microphone.

I turned off voice chat after the first PvP match where some mouth-breather had his TV blasting on an open mic.

I would talk more in chat if it even worked in the first place 100% of the time.

This is the truth, period. Defiance is a game totally oriented to voice and vocal commands so the chat is just "optional" but this could be useful in a console game but for the PC version they should give chat a greater priority

well tbh i like the idee of yhe game but after some time playing i rly get the feeling on pc i notice its made for console , if it was designed for pc only it could be great game but aslong its on consoles aswell defiance will never get e real mmo status, so my opinion in the consols are kinda blocking us in every way
