Still down in UK played for 20 mins 06.30 then bam nothing since any idea how much longer?
Yep. Servers are down in London. We are all eager to play but we know this stuff is complicated so give yourself a pat on the back. Keep working hard guys.
All they have to do is go on facebook, or twitter, or even right here on the forum (of all places!)and say 'It'll be another hour' or whatever. You know, courtesy and such. Instead of me restarting the game every 5 minutes in complete frustration instead of doing SOMETHING today.
Come I know yours saying there working hard enough but I'm sure if they was the severs would be sorted by now give us a estimated time people have got better things to be doing then keep restarting the game !
hmmm came in to post my frustrations would appear that's been covered........you'd think a game which is totally dependant on working servers and internet connectivity, It'd be pretty high in their to do list.
wht about british servers i respect tht fact the u guys r busy with server issues but its bin 4 days and still cnt even start game all i hear is tht there sortin usa servers wht about uk we paid jst like usa
What a load of crap! I payed money to actually play this game and not to look at the "connection to defiance servers has timed out"
screen. NOT HAPPY!
Germany here! I´m in! go check out!!!
I've had my Xbox on since 09:00GMT and all I've been doing is hammering the A button and occasionally dashboarding and resetting the game. My friend hasn't been able to log on for two days now and I think 4 hours is bad enough. Like someone said in an earlier post, you'd think being a game solely dependant on its online capabilities more time would be put into oh I don't know, letting people get online. Just sayin'.
THIS IS ALL SKYNET'S FAULT!!!
ill av a look thn
Netherlands here, I'm in
north west england in UK is now in
I can play from 7am to about 7pm with virtually no lag but then past 7pm it goes to lag hell and then around 12 am midnight it speeds up and starts working again. lol So far it has been awesome. :p
I tried all night last night to log in and I would end up in a queue for 55 days. Eventually I did manage to get into the game but only to be kicked several times and once I did get in I could never interact with the environment. THen you would notice the rubberband effect happening. I just logged off and can only hope that it gets resolved quickly.
Last night was a terrible lag. i couldn't do hardly anything. i hope they fix it soon.
SKYNET...!!! NOOOOO!! Stop the Lag...Skynet please...we will be easier to Terminate!!
Lies. First there haves many much worse. Second I know you haven't been playing them that long. Third this is the first time a game of this size was launched on console, especially ones that are on outdated technology. This is a massive game and a strong, courageous attempt to make it work by Trion. Again this is the first massive console release at launch of a MMO. It's new stomping ground for all.
Why bother fighting for those who rage quit? Let them: a) one less person to clog up the bottleneck, b) one less self-entitled boob corrupting the community atmosphere.
I think the second thing Trion didn't consider was the braying of petulant children who think something like his CAN just work out of the box. You cannot anticipate how a server's going to respond on launch day, and it's not like they can just flip a "FIX BILLY'S CONNECTION" switch. This stuff is complex and fixing one problem causes others. Shaming Trion in order to make yourself feel better about your game purchase is short-sighted. I'm sure Trion will make amends to those of you worried about your virtual rewards, but other than that, the only thing that's going to get you through this is patience.
We're part of something unprecedented here: if you can't keep your eye on the bigger picture, then hasta la vista, baby -- though I understand how important it is to some to vent their consumer privilege in public.
Here's a tissue, now go return the game, yell at the sales clerk for deceiving you, and stomp out in a huff with your new store credit.
Rock. Keep it up guys. Played a little last night and it was buggy as hell.
Awesome news, I was on last night for couple of hours and had server disconnect around 10pm EST. I have to say what a difference last night was from Tuesday which was unbearable at times.
Keep up the great work the game is awesome.
I bought this game last night and couldn't even play it. It took multiple dashboarding and restarting the game just to get through the tutorial between disconnects and lag that left the game unplayable. I hope the devs make a permanent fix for this and not just a band-aid...
Whatever patch was implemented last night did a lot of good. Connected to the servers almost instantly. Not a bit of lag. Did about 5 or 6 Arkfalls with out any problems other than a few audio stuff but that's not a big deal. Never once got disconnected. Have to say you guys at Trion are doing a great job getting these problems sorted as quick as you can. Keep up the good work.
Thank you Sledgehammer for keeping us informed and working so diligently to make our experience what it should be. We'll all get there and turn back to look at the startup and laugh about how frustrating it was for everyone. Keep up the good work and also keep your eyes on the prize.
@Apollo
I'm in central time zone. Xbox 360.
Cool,
I am on xbox on east coast. So it'll be after 6pm before I can try it again. Keep us posted on how it goes, and if you want to group up in game, send me a DM.
Thanks for all the update info Sledgehammer....it means alot that those who want to play the game are informed about the issues, that way you will keep a loyal base of gamers.
Been reading alot on the forums here and just have to say to all the hardcore MMO crowd to take it easy on the console people who are new to this situation like myself. Nobody with an xbox or a ps3 knew they that wouldnt be able to play a game they just bought at the store. Not everyone knows the standards for MMO releases including myself but since reading through here i understand it will be some time before things are where the need to be in order to play. Thats fine i can wait.......but bashing people becuase they just didnt know is messed up. They have been playing xbox playstaion and other consoles all their life and guess what.....when they go to the store and spend hard earned money on a 50-60 dollar game aside from a day one update they can play instantly. No one wants to order a steak and not be able to eat it for a week to a month. Not everyone that plays games has all the free time in the world to drink mountain dew and get cheeto stains all over their shirts sitting in front a monitor all day playing an MMO or anything else for that matter. Normal people other than kids who are on break have jobs and lives outside of gaming. Although they love gaming they just have other resposiblities. No one wants to go to the store and buy a game for whatever amount of money and not be able to play with the little free time they have. I will wait for the game to come around but try not lash out at others who simply just dont know the process of an MMO because you do and you think that they should. Also keep in mind the xbox is a much more popular online platform than ps3 for third party titles. So the wave of xbox complaints is because more copies were sold on xbox in general. I imagine more copies could have been sold on pc than either console but im willing to bet the xbox has sold the most at this point. Could be wrong....
Mods,
Its to hard to follow 60 pages to find out what you said. Can you please start updating your first post with an "Update" field instead of posting inside the posts. Took me 15 mins to find all of your posts in one forum.
Thanks!

DON’T DO THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AND EXPECT DIFFERENT RESULTS
Good update on the defiance FB page. Worth following for updates.

keep up the great work and improving the game
I see a lot of this rationale going on: "Don't you know that this type of product is of particularly poor quality? Because precedence for poor quality exists, you should be ok with it!" It's just a game--a product, not some special experience with unique expectations detached from general consumer laws and expectations. So we will complain, we will give bad reviews of this game to others, and we will remain in the game. Welcome to economic reality.
I have played many MMO's on the pc and i always expect a few issues at the beginning of the game. I expected no different with this game, however i am shocked and really glad that the dev's of this game are so on top of the issues as they arise and give players as close to real time updates on their work as they try and solve the issues. Hopefully this game is up and running ASAP so people can begin to get of the *** about it and see the work and dedication they are putting into this game.
