ok so a few flaws is considered lagging almost constantly throughout game-play? i could understand that is THAT WAS ALL THAT IS HAPPENING!

I don't get paid to know how and obviously you don't either. I know of several MMO's that didn't have the extensive non playable problems that this game has. Minor glitches are exceptable. For DAYS now I haven't been able to play, despite this game having a beta. That's fact, not crying. Most people cant even play this game as it was intended out of the box, like me. I find it funny you would be an advocate for a game that doesn't work. To funny. Let say you bought a new truck that doesn't work for 3 days after you buy it. I guess you would say, other truck dealers are having the same problem, so its exceptable? Absolutely not, you would return turn it. We as consumers can't do that with this game, now can we? So instead, there are consumers like you who empower these game companies to release products to soon and by praising mediocrity. Paying money for a product that doesn't work is not exceptable-this product doesn't work properly (oh but it will someday, lol). We all saw the potential in this game and thats why we forked over 60 bucks, but that potential is unrealized due to being unable to play-AT ALL.

some people like myself have forked over more than "$60" for the different editions of this game and for it to take the entire night to install the game all the patches and then not to work LIKE IT IS SUPPOSED TO, well that tells me that

1. the company did not do enough trial and error testing BEFORE the beta was released,
2. they didn't read enough into the pre-beta, and in-beta testing to know that something like what is happening would happen.
3. hopefully this NON- PLAYER issue will be a benchmark (for releasing a game that has had issues from night 1 of release) for other gaming companies that are or will plan on making a competing MMORPG for a console.

I bought the Ultimate Edition, you won't be hearing me complain It's pretty complicated and they took a huge risk making this for Xbox 360 and PS3 it could have been a PC only title. I'll just wait it out and play it on my PC till xbox is all good.

I got some more play in last night after my initial post. There was some lag during a large arkfall, particularly where I couldn't change my weapon because it was out of ammo. And as a result, I couldn't fire at all either. But after that, everything else worked fine. This game is already too good to just blow up at the developers because there are a few problems. Don't forget that they're working night and day to ensure everything works smoothly on all three platforms. My version is on Xbox 360, but I also have a friend who has it on PS3, and he hasn't been able to log in at all lately. But he's keeping his cool too and playing another game in the meantime to keep his third person shooter skills up.

All this hate directed at the developers doesn't solve anything. This thread should be reserved for posting observations about how the game is running and the like, so the developers can scan through it and determine where they may need to focus their attention specifically.

I have observed that there are several fanboy ***** kissers. I have observed that the game devs have our money. I have observed that this game is broken for nearly a week. I observe that no promise of compensation has been made. Its unfair that the devs get away scott free from their mistakes in not ensuring product quality. Oops my bad is not going to cut it when my money is invested. The fanboys that are protecting and sucking up to the devs most likely had mommy and daddy buy them the game. Thats why they dont see it as the moral majority does.

I have been playing since Friday night lag-free. everything has been amazing. the only issue is after the servers were taken down yesterday, all the Co-Op is messed up. Other than that this game is amazing. Will be and still recommending this game to all my friends.

if you would read more than one forum you would see that the developers have posted that they are looking in to compensation for our time lost. This is a NEW MMO. For all you newbies to MMO's be patient. this game isnt going to be perfect on launch day. No MMO ever is. It not even MMO's that crash servers. Remember Halo 2. Xbox live was down for days, and its still one of the top selling games of all time. Keep your heads up.

Shut the hell up your pissed too... I Have played many betas and this is the worst one for the server issues

I also keep getting server time outs, can't even get in. They are working hard on trying to fix things so I guess we'll have to be patient. But so far love the game.

Server having problems again? Hope you guys can get it fixed up quickly since weekend are the best play time.

What kind of compensation? If its an XP comp that would be sufficient

The game is awesome I don't experience lag unless IM at a major arc fall I love the game

I cant log in to my palyer every time i start and i pick him it gose to the loading screen and then it tells me the sever has timed out any help on the subject would be great? but it lets me make a new care and play and i got so far so i dont want to make a new..

Possible troubleshooting info? :
I've noticed that I can continue playing just fine with these outages, up until reboots, so long as I avoid loading screens in-game. Like porting and such. I have also noticed that my connection seems to drop more frequently when the Live party chat is being used. (EDIT: I ruled out connectivity issues: down=27.1mbps; up=3.07mbps; ping=78 to CA server via speedtest.net) I don't know if the info is helpful, but being on a maint team myself, sometimes it's the little thorns that are the biggest pain in the side.

got the same time out error over and over and over for 20 minutes and the servers went down. XBOX 360

Yea, the servers seem to be down, which is a bummer seeing as Sundays are my only day off every week. Oh well, new MMO and all, was to be expected, just wish I could find out about server down times on the forums BEFORE they go down...might ease the pain and disappointment ;-)

I would rather pay $60 a year to play online without having to worry about network servers going down and my personal information and credit card information being hacked...

I keep getting the "Your Connection to the DEFIANCE servers has timed out" error.
xbox 360. Also its good to mention as I keep gettng this error, a vast amount of my friends are actually online playing (Party chat confirmed this)

Anyone else? or is my console just trying to F**k wth my head today?

Not to mention better connection, more skilled players, and less kids who's parents wont get them a yearly gold account.
