Looking for in a guild/clan:I am looking for a semi-casual PvE & PvP crew with decently large group of people with whom to play; having a family I don't have time to "full time gamer" it any more, but I still put in some hours and learn fast enough to not be the boat anchor that many with my play schedule are. At the same time, I'm not looking for a group who takes the game too seriously, at the end of the day RL comes first, and if someone has something to do, a group that doesn't demonize them for it is where I would like to be.
Gaming history: I've been playing MMO's since UO in 1997, and have played almost every major AAA release, and many indy ones since. I have long awaited a good third person shooter being brought into this environment, Firefall was too focused on Arena PvP for my tastes.
What you are looking forward to in Defiance: I am looking for a good persistent open world shooter that isn't all about Arena PvP, I would love to see sandbox elements (player cities, etc) but if the game plays as good as it looks, I can't wait to play it regardless.

Looking for in a guild/clan: I am looking for a semi-casual guild to run with, and make friends and have fun playing and learning defiance with. I always say the clan/guild you are in makes the game.. the most fun I have ever had in any game would be wow and that is because of the guild and people that I played with.
I would like to be around other like-minded people that believe a game is a place to have fun.. not a second job.
Gaming history: The list of games I have played is very long, everything from HL to COD, in the mmo universe, I have played wow, eve, lotr, wurm, FF, and many more.
What you are looking forward to in Defiance: I am looking for something different then the usual stand and face-roll the hot-bar, Tera had a nice action combat but I am getting tiresome of the fantasy elves thing.
I have always had a love for FPS, mostly co-op ones... I never really liked death-matches, you can only get killed so many times and repeat the same boards without wanting something new .. imo anyway.
So I am a co-op guy threw and threw, I love playing synergy, serious sam, killing floor.
There is nothing more fun for me then to group up to take a BAM down :)

Looking for in a guild/clan: I do causal Role Play, and PVE questing, and PVE raiding. Some times when I'm bored I do PVP.
Gaming history: Long history of games guilds and other things, I'm 41 years old and I am a Gaming Addict, who loves bacon, beer, and hot unobtainable people. :p
MMOs - EQ, SWG, E&B, COH, WOW(8 years and counting), and many others which are now boring and nameless to me.
Guilds - GnomeTech (WOW: RP, Social), PowerlessGods (WOW: Dead Raiding Guild in TBC), Knights of Arcadia (WOW: raid, pve, PAA), Guardian Angels - (COH/CO: RP, social), TMBZ - (multiplatform: Social)
What you are looking forward to in Defiance: A good solid Social game.
Dont forget that if you are looking for a guild you can post here with what your looking for
Keeping the thread up there :)

Looking for in a guild/clan: Well, I'll just straight up and say it. I'm a role-player. I know most people will immediately go "Ewwwwwww, not one of those," as this game has the shooter label, but meh, that's how it is. Ideally I'd be looking for a guild with other role-players, that's priority #1. Priority #2 is a calm and relaxed atmosphere. I am not competitive, and I care not for end game content or being at the top of leaderboards. I dislike the super-serious mentality that I know will come with a lot of guilds / clans because I'm here to have fun, not to get shouted at because I pressed the wrong button, or because I experimented away from the normal, accepted meta.
That said, I don't know how well the game will lend itself to role-playing, only time will tell that. If it really doesn't I'd probably just look for a chilled atmosphere who accept the fact that I will be writing fan-fiction. What can I say, I like stories. (Don't worry, it's not as bad as you may think... I hope!)
*Note* I am not a typical MMO player, contrary to what preconceptions you may have on role-players. See gaming history below!
Gaming history: Gaming history... Gaming history... Well, I started in '99 playing Half Life, Unreal and Unreal Tournament. I haven't stopped playing the Unreal series or the Half Life series, they are still very much up there as my favourites. Games I would say that I play / played / actually liked would be... All the Half Life games, all the Unreal games (apart from UT2003... What was that about?!), all things related to Valve and the source engine (I'm talking your L4Ds, gmods, even Dino D-Day!). I branched out into RTS, playing a lot of Dawn of War (all of them!), though that's where my RTS days stayed. I dislike it as a genre for the most part. Also, I can't stand Call of Duty or Battlefield. I enjoyed Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare a lot. I played that in multiplayer a lot on a hardcore Search and Destroy server, got to know the community and had an absolute barrel of laughs, but then they took away ye-olde dedicated server browser and made it essentially a re-skin of the previous with a terribad storyline. Battlefield I just never enjoyed. Ever. Now, if I want a realistic, modern shooter, I'll play Insurgency.
On consoles, I used to be a Playstation user, until the PS3 was like "Ha! Terrible backwards compatibility for you!" (although I did play and complete Metal Gear Solid 4 many, many times). The games I played on the PS1 and PS2 were all of the Tekken games, Final Fantasy 7 through 10-2, all of the Crash Bandicoot games and all of the Metal Gear Solid games. Then I moved to the xbox 360, where I continue to be a Microsoft drone (all hail the overlords?). Don't worry, I hate Halo as well, the games I play on the xbox are the Tekken games (the newer ones), Dead or Alive 4 and 5, Mass Effect 1 through 3 and Gears of War (all of them!) as my "typical xbox game"
On the topic of other MMOs... Eh... None of them will ever have a place in my memories like the games listed above. I played WoW... For a month, before I got bored and left. Believe me when I say that a lot of role-play that went on there scared me as well. I played Fallen Earth, which was actually kinda nifty, similar to Defiance in quite a few ways, though it wasn't very well polished or optimised, so I ended up leaving that when it became apparent that if you didn't subscribe then your leveling dropped to a snail's pace. I played SWTOR which got me for a while, I liked the story in it, but the mechanics and gameplay left a lot to be desired. I've also played The Secret World, but again, I just find it a little too repetitive and grindy. I'm hoping that Defiance will be more interesting, being a shooter-MMO hybrid as opposed to an MMO. I hate grindy gameplay with a passion.
What you are looking forward to in Defiance: Well, I'm a shooter gamer, who likes to role-play and write fiction in a lawless, desert-like universe. What am I looking forward to? Shooting things, writing bucket-loads of fan-fiction inspired by what I see and do, shooting more things and potentially role-playing with others. To a gamer like me, this game's concept is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for, so there's very little about Defiance that I'm not looking forward to. I'll be a regular player in the game and a regular series watcher on the TV.
Oh, and I'm a co-op player. So I'm looking forward to teaming up with people to kill massive alien monster things of doom more than I'm looking forward to shooting other players in the face. That said, no one escapes my scope. No one!
*Note* This player has very little skill and lacks a competitive nature, the above is just empty trash talk.
Sorry for the slight wall. I tend to get carried away...

Looking for in a guild/clan: I have a pretty demanding career and a family. So I am no longer able to game like I used to. I am looking for a casual, fun, and enjoyable community that understands the demands of real life expectations. I can be somewhat competative but I do not take it to extremes. I pretty much get a long with anyone. I also run a dedicated TeamSpeak server for anyone that needs it. I pretty much have unlimited bandwidth so it is always running. I am a social gamer as such I look for a social guild/clan.
Gaming history: Oh man.. Since I am 30 years old and currently typing this from work, I'll just say it's pretty extensive. MMO's have been a strong passion of mine going as far back as MUD's and DOOR games hosted on BBS systems. I have played almost every mmo I could get my hands on. I had favorites and I had ones that I stopped playing in a day or two.
What you are looking forward to in Defiance: Pretty much like I have already stated. I am looking forward to killing crap in a persistant live world with a badass machine gun. Nuff said.

Looking for in a guild/clan: Looking for a fun active group that has a website and a ventrilo sever. A Group that helps each other, knowing that to win you need to fight as a group using tactics . I am the old wise man.;)
Gaming history: I was the leader of a gaming clan {T5K} for Unreal Tournament for 9 years. I moved to SWTOR and currently in Imperial Recon Force Guild. I've played UT Series, BF Series, COD series, Crysis, Mass Effects Trilogy, SWTOR and many other games. I've owned and operated a gaming ladder for UT and currently have a vBulletin forum. I was the admin for the UT3 ladders on Fraggednation.com. I build gaming PC. ;)
What you are looking forward to in Defiance: excitement, fun and adventure. I want to be the Stealth Sniper with the baddest car on the planet. To see the inner action between the show and the game.:)
