Ammo pick ups when at max ammo
So I'm not entirely sure this is bugged or intended, but if you have full ammo when an ammo pick up drops it contains no ammo. For instance; if you kill an enemy with melee and full ammo and the enemy drops an ammo pick up; then you shoot a few times and reload you will pick up the ammo but it has no effect on you ammo reserve. I get that ammo drops are supposed to stick around if you can't use it so that you can go back and pick it up when needed (kind of like the reason grenades, spikes and stims persist for a while), but if you can't get ammo from them unless you can use it at the time of it dropping; it doesn't make sense to have it either drop or persist. Not to mention the text spam from "ammo is currently full" gets annoying when you are trying to see what you picked up when mass looting quickly.

On a related note; I get the tactical advantages of having grenades and such drop and be ready to use when you need them, but why can't it auto pick up when you are not at max capacity? At no point does anyone ever have 3/5 grenades and say "I don't want two more grenades right now, but in two minutes when I have zero I want to frantically run around looking for the drops I ran over while running from a hulker". It just doesn't happen.

One final thing; is there any chance we could get like a purple exclamation mark above downed players so we can actually see that they are down and can help them? Don't know how many times I've run over a downed player before seeing them and have to go back, at which point they probably think I'm a jerk for ignoring them. If I've done that to you and it's not during the WM fight, I apologize. I simply didn't see you. I always help downed players when I see them; barring them being someplace that will most definitely result in two players being down instead of one.

Ammo drop will be picked up if your 2nd weapon not at max ammo capacity.

Agree 100% about the grenades!!! Haven't noticed the ammo thing. Players are already blinking and crawling on the ground and flashing on the minimap... I don't really want a big exclamation point too.

Silver: I'm aware of that; what I'm referring to it that if neither of your weapons needs ammo when the ammo drops it will contain no ammo regardless of whether you go back and pick it up later. Not exactly life or death; but the drops cluttering the ground is somewhat annoying to me personally and as I don't think its functioning properly I wanted to either report it or be given confirmation that it is working as intended.

Butttheripper: I see your point about it getting annoying to have all the exclamation points cluttering the screen. How about an option to have it with the default be to not? I play from the couch and am probably sitting too far away (can't read half the text that pops up); and I didn't consider players that sit closer to the screen and thus have no problems with seeing the crawlers. But you have to agree that sometimes they are hard to see in bushes or with a bunch of unused ammo drops all around and on top of them. The minimap notification is there; but again, somewhat hard to see for me. Maybe I should just move closer to the screen.

There's a trick to it. Your ammo between your current weapon and maximum reserve cannot be equal to or greater than your reserve limit allowed for it to actually grant ammo on a pick up. The same rule will be applied to your stowed weapon also. In other words, you need to be missing the cost of a magazine +1. In addition, when both weapons have full magazines and reserve limits, the game won't even let you pick them up off the ground.

The maximum reserve for an Assault weapon is 500 rounds.
In the case of an Assault weapon with a 50 round magazine:
    50 rounds in your weapon
    500 rounds stowed
50 + 500 = 550. You can't pick up ammo drops and they will stay there on the ground.

If you were to fire off the whole magazine and reload:
    50 rounds in your weapon
    450 rounds stowed
50 + 450 = 500. You can pick up ammo drops but no ammo will be granted.

If you then were to fire 1 round:
    49 rounds in your weapon
    450 rounds stowed
49 + 450 = 499. You can pick up an ammo drop and it would grant 50 rounds to your ammo reserve.

In addition to this, there's a maximum amount of rounds that you are allowed to pick up at a time from 1 ammo drop that varies by weapon type. Assault is 350 and Detonator should be 11 to list a few examples. Enjoy!

Here's a related question... why can't I pick up ammo when NOT at full capacity while carrying a Sniper Rifle? I can be full up on my other gun, but I can't seem to refill my Sniper ammo unless I'm below 50%.

I already explained that too. See comment above.

For a Sniper Rifle, the total ammo between your weapon and reserve has to be less than 50.

Thank you very much for the explanation SirServed. Very much appreciated as to the mechanics surrounding the ammo pick ups.

Re resing other players it would be handy if there was an indication of some kind to let you know if they have a self revive.
This would also come in very handy when Alcatraz comes out.

Agreed Bentu. I hadn't thought of that (not on the PTR but I try to read patch notes to keep up to speed), but knowing whether or not someone can get themselves up would be handy. Though if there are people around I usually wait a few seconds to give someone the chance for a free 1k points.
