Less than 10% of the original team worked on Defiance that worked on RIFT but there's a few key people who have been kept over such as Art Leads, the main Server Lead, and a etc. But it's also a much much bigger team. There's still a lot of of the original PC developers on the PC side of the game. As far as the Development Team not responding to bugs, that's patently false I can testify that having worked as a dev myself. Just because the fix appears simple doesn't mean it's 1) Easy to Fix and 2) A priority fix.

A game of this complexity has a lot of moving parts and often it's not as simple as modifying a value in code. Especially if this was written in C++ which is by and far an incredibly complex (if robust) language. Fixing one line of code can break it a million other places. I can almost guarentee the internal test team is working their butt off to ensure they aren't sending out broken patches and the dev team is working overtime to patch up what's broken now. Expectations for a fully functional product within the next month should be set to "Very Low." Try 3 months.

If we think about the 'fact' that very few people transferred from the RIFT team to the Defiance team, I can think of several reasons that would be true.
    1) Both games were being developed at the same time. The Rift people weren't available to move to Defiance til quite recently.
    2) Rift was/is developed at the Redwood Shores studio, Defiance at the San Diego studio. They are 400 miles apart.
    3) Rift is a theme park MMO for the PC only. Defiance is a TPS for Xbox and PS3 as well as the PC.

So... the games are quite different and even if some folks were willing to relocate from Redwood Shores to San Diego would they have the skill sets needed for Defiance?

[NOTE] I have lived in Redwood Shores AND in San Diego in the past. They are both lovely areas. Trion sure got THAT part right. Talented people are quite willing to live in those areas.

I have some friends who work on Defiance and they are all (as you would exspect) putting in incredible hours now to make this game better for all of us.

I have so much respect for the dev team right now. I know the hardships of having to work on the same game on three different platforms all while testing future DLC and patches. Considering that they have already fixed most of the major issues at launch in a week is astounding to me. I have known companies that have spent a month fixing launch issues on just one platform... Give this team some respect and gratitude because they really do deserve it.
