A few quick questions about character customization, skill system etc
So I went and got Defiance today for PC, played it, enjoyed it and yada yada yada. You know the drill, hehe. :p I'm sure you've heard all that before, so let's cut to the chase, ok? Thanks.

When I try to make a character, I can't seem to figure out how to change my hairstyle. Do I really have to quit the character editor and start it up again just to get a new hairstyle, or am I missing something here? And in the same alley, can I change my hairstyle in-game later on? It might seem like a no-brainer, but you'd be surprised how awesome some MMOs are in that area. "Can I change my skin color in the game?" *forums melt down in complaints about "breaking immersion, not being realistic and so on"* I'm a roleplayer by heart, but I want convenience over hard realism. ;)

As for skills, I was a bit disappointed to try my second class, only to find out I have the same skills avaliable. Do you get all skills for all classes, or, again, am I missing something? I've only reached lvl 2, so I'm about as n00b as they get. Barely even heard about the game until I bought it today, in fact. (I do love Rift, though. So that counts for a lot. And a tv-series based on this game? I love lore, and that's lore galore.) :p

Last, are there dungeons etc in this game, and is so, do we have a "trinity" here? (tank, healer, DPS)? Looking at the skill system, I'm a bit confused as what each class actually does. Are there any point in picking classes at all?

Character creation > after setting race/gender and so on hit continue. On the next screen you have some face modifications. On top of that screen you can switch between sections, it`s rather small buttons. But those take you to customizing hair and other things.

During toon gen you can change your hairstyle, just make sure you utilize the 'tabs' at the top of the char gen

Everybody has access to the same skills, and, to answer your 'trinity' question, no 'classic classes' - your 'role' depends on your perk/skill build. Theoretically its possible to mam out all perks (or so I've heard).

What you may be thinking of as classes during char gen are not actually classes (Scavenger, Soldier, etc.), but simply determine you're starting outfit and gear. And your starting Ego power just gives you quicker access to certain perks. For example if you wanna do a sniper, choose the cloaking ability and the perks around are good for snipers - bonus damage when crouched, bonus damage when higher than your target, etc.

Hope that answered you questions - cheers mate =)

Thanks, I somehow missed those tabs on top. My char's look a lot better now. :) I made one for each type (Veteran, Outlaw etc), but will stick to the one I prefer. Aka the one I think looks best, hehe.

I also just noticed the Pursuits and somehow thought it was all about running after something. *blush* It sounds pretty cool and extensive, so if this game is fun, expect me to sit around for quite some time. :) The only drawback I've seen so far is a few disconnects, but I'm sure that's just because the game is quite new. :)
