does that part mean that you dont share the good stuff with the general community?
im sorta confused there.
if you do,can you provide a link where we may go to read and learn more?

I love how all the "fun" players are the ones spewing personal attacks and calling names in this thread. Not that it bothers me really. I'll continue to enjoy being a "lazy tryhard elitist" (whatever that is) and not feeling bad about it.
The rest of the guys may not give em out but I'll sell a limited time peek. 10m per 30 mins viewing
"Fun" is another definition for "imposing a limit on ones self"
I know for a fact that whenever I do expeditions with the rest of the consortium guys, we don't need to use glitches like some others to boost through the levels or tiers. And we do heavens scent because it's the only one that actually takes skill and teamwork whereas every casual you see just do hellbug hunt because they choose to "have fun" and can't go beyond its limitations
Pssst, click the link. Until the VFX get fixed, healing is griefing. Keep pretending otherwise, it's funny. So is blowing up griefers with pumpkins.
But zerging is fun! Teamwork sounds an awful lot like just plain work. Who wants to do work in a game?!
The BMG is a legitimate weapon in the game to use until the Devs tell us different! Furthermore, getting your BMG level to 20 is worth EGO points to get to 6000, and it is part of a combat pursuit, also worth EGO points! :)
My last character to reach 6000 (Sandy Bell) is using a BMG to get EGO points at this special events as she gets closer to skill level 20 with it! I hardly ever use it to heal anybody, unless I see them get pulverized by a Hulker, but am having a ball zapping several zombies (afflicted) at once with it! I'm also NEVER at the top of the list, but that doesn't matter to me, just having fun with my clan does! Once I reach level 20 with the BMG, I probably will never use it again, for my other three characters never do, but until then, I'm going to have fun doing so, for that is what games are all about to me: Having FUN!
Back to the theme of this thread, as I said, I'm having a ball at these events just playing the game, and can't understand how people just standing around the event are having any fun at all, but to each their own! :)
I guess I'm one of those "fun" people who just like to play the game and not call anyone else names! So sue me - especially if I use a BMG! LOL!! :D
Yea wtf Trion this past weekend was on 43 hrs straight; nothing but blue ****, a couple to weapons, & 3 t4 mods!!! Scoring front 2k - 183k (last - 1st) & get fkd by you with blues!!! First 3 days you slam me with 8 of berserker from mjrs,1 JP inf (On my smallest toon) & now "4" oj pistols for weekly gifts; COME ON WTF REALLY! !!!!!!!! Been play since 3rd day of available download and seen you guys (Trion) do some stupid ****; but this is prize winner. First you lock our jp's (that was "really" fkd up) and now you don't give us any!!! Way give us event to run with no rewards!!! And like really I've still got 5 locked carving knifes on 1 toon & 14 heart seekers! AGAIN WTF!!!!!!! They're our jp's "unlock them"!!! We deal with your crapy servers "everyday" & you **** on us like this. Thanks alot after I've put over a grand in this game.
I got 1 oj from major n it was named infector then i got all crap
i gotten any named weapons either, only oj I got was from the weekly, it's been mostly blues...what happen to this game.it sucks
...........;) bmg time!!! beep beep ban smg and snipers. no skill and no fun keep dets a lot of fun
Rarity so funk'n high need so much more HH. I think having to wait longer then 30 sec for next HH is a crime.
I think (anyone feel free to correct me if I am wrong) meta-gaming in this case is knowing, understanding, and utilizing the mechanics behind the game to more efficiently achieve the directive. In the case of Defiance, utilizing situational damage per second to kill stuff faster. AND knowing what others will likely do, using this to your advantage to help the open world group progress to the end goal (or at least your end goal). TLDR: Moar fasser damage kills stuff fasser.
Just wanted to point out that there are also several good guides, tools, threads in these Forums (albeit a bit buried now) in which you can begin to discover the game behind the game and how to maximize DPS. in fact they are out there and in some cases just underneath one's nose. PM me if you want and I can start you down the rabbit hole with links. Though once you have had taken the red pill...
BUT BUT BUT my fun is to kill stuff. And thus kill stuff faster, so I can go and kill more stuff!!! Where is my "Fun"?
BACK to the OP:
Yeah a bit bummed that the HH spawn rates do not seem very high (or high enough). But personally there are not a lot of guns I am looking for in this event. I mean the Grave Digger is nice though not optimized, then the Black Cat, then maybe the Afterlife and or Phantasm. But other than the Digger I have viable replacements (Actually on second thought, I have a viable substitute for the Digger as well).
Also I do not understand the community push for "named" weapons. Just because it is "named" does not mean it is worth a lot. For some of the "named" weapons there are much "cheaper" alternatives that can be readily had in game which are approximately as good as said named weapons (in some cases better). But then most people take the blue pill and whose eyes are never opened.
Status, popularity, and ignorance.
These are why "named" guns hold the power they do. "Because it's named, it HAS to be better than all others in its class."
I understand it, I just don't personally agree. Some may be situationally superior, but the context needs to be near perfect.
They are also a means to spike the market and drive greed.
I haven't pulled any named weapons at all, this event. I know some that have pulled 5+. These same ppl pull named gear every event. RNG is skewed. But the team will never admit and even deny this basic truth.
It's not completely irrational on the players' part. Named guns also have built-in 5% bonuses to damage, reload, recoil, mag, and crit. Which adds up.
Whether that was a good idea from a balance standpoint, I'm not sure. I can see it both ways.
The meta players are better than the players with poor weapon choice who think they are helping when they are really being carried. Reminds me of letting my kids play with an unplugged controller back when they were little. Bringing back damaged based scoring would help.
Yes BMG users II'm looking at you...
Have talked with vets and newbies. It seems free to play is getting better named drops than some day one players. Is it because the "rng" has been changed a few times?
The JP inf is crap. oj fire rate n blue bug dmg what a joke. Gave it to clanie n bought 1w/oj dmg n blue bug dmg. I thought I wanted it to till I t4ed it & played with it. Do yourself a favor and don't pay for 1. Go buy an oj with better rolls.
Only if said "meta players" are actually doing something to carry everyone else. Taking a couple of shots then going afk is not carrying anyone...it's leeching, which all these self-proclaimed meta players have readily, freely, and proudly declared to do regularly. The "griefer" killing npc after npc is actually carrying the leeches while they take a couple of shots then go afk to eat some hot pockets and pop tarts with their case of Mountain Dew.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think the bmg is the ideal weapon either...I just don't see the need to deride someone for using a weapon that they enjoy and that is a legitimate part of the game. Until it's no longer part of the game, then there's no leg to stand on. Even after they "fix" whatever it is that causes everyone to freak over them, they'll still not do uber max dps, but they will still be fun--except for those who cannot compute fun. Hopefully after the fix, the derision will not continue just because anyone who uses one isn't quite as leet as these select few chosen ones...the "meta players".
Lol, "whatever it is" don't be ridiculous--you know perfectly well what it is. I've seen people using charge blades, shotguns, and all other kinds of nonsense at these things. I also see people using BMGs offensively to score farm without healing. I don't care about any of that, it's mildly amusing but nothing more. You certainly won't see me calling them out in zone "hey your dps is suboptimal!" because they aren't hurting anyone. By the same token though I don't feel any need to go out of my way to carry people who aren't really trying. I shoot if I feel like it, I alt tab and get work done if I don't.
I single out BMG spammers (by which I mean healers) for derision because they are negatively affecting others--something that even idlers are not doing because MAFs will always go to TL10 anyway, so the effect of idlers is nil. Healing VFX is something that Trion has already acknowledged they plan to fix in a Q&A, so it is silly to pretend that there isn't a problem.
You can repeat all this tripe about "legitimacy" and "fun" all you want but that doesn't change the fact that healing in its current form is griefing. Having fun at other peoples' expense is not legitimate. You want to BMG, attack with it all you want, it lets you get points and gives you your precious "fun" without hurting others. Heal and you deserve whatever derision you get.
Sometimes, I look around and see that we're overrun by Hulkers. When that's the case, I leave the Speshul Forces to it, because they didn't show up to kill anything, they came for points. You play on console, so your system is literally not able to show you just how terribly disruptive the BMG and Infector users are. BTW: I tag the event on my 5951 EGO alt character then proceed to actually kill the enemies on my main. My main has better gear and does the damage of several other nearby players. Of the 4 Jackpot items I've received, 3 of them dropped for my alt, go figure.
You do realize that a majority of these players that use "fun" guns regularly also complain about the enemies being spongy, right? You can't have your cake and eat it too you know. If you use the obviously subpar "fun" gun, you don't get to complain when it takes 10 minutes to kill a TL10 enemy and cry nerf. It's a good thing that these events allow 300 subpar weapon users to gang up on one guy and appear to be effective.
Reminder: I'm in no way, shape, or form required to be of use to the players around me, the same way players that use weapons with disruptive particle effects aren't being held accountable for doing so.
RNG...it's a ***** I can't deny that. I've not received a jackpot yet, no matter what my score...not even an oj other than weekly. I've come in 1st, last and everywhere in between. Doesn't make a difference.
I couldn't agree with you more about crying nerf...for anything...but especially people bringing a knife to a gunfight. Honestly when I play with fun guns, I'm expecting it to take much more time killing stuff. Hell we've held "melee the viscera" in the wm arkbreaks with nothing but the butts of our guns just because we could and for something different and funny...took forever so we finally shot it to death before dropping through the floor (yes we killed the wm...we were just goofing around).Quote:

Correction...it's not the players that use the weapons that need to be accountable...it's Trion. They're not making good on their promise to fix it. The bmg is a legitimate gun that can and should be used by anyone who wants to do so. Trion is at fault for not either removing the gun or the requirement to level it or fixing it as they said they would. "Don't hate the players...hate the game."Quote:

yep, this event is a joke! We have a big guild and a lot Players run from Event to Event. 3 Peoples get a JP and this only with his little Twinks!
Most only Blue Drops ....
The Droprate for JP´s is very small and the fun turns into frustation..This is ****!
Sry for my bad english
If I were Trion, I would tweak the RNG so that lower EGO chars get more jps. Their owners would then need tons of AF to keep these jps leveled and hopefully would spend lots of $$$ buying AF in my bit store. Of course, the real Trion wouldn't do this ...
Here I am having fun blurring and BMGing a Hulker to Death! I've gone from Level 10 to Level 19 BMG skill at these Hulker Hell events and had a lot of fun doing so, but only one more level to go and I will have maxed the amount of EGO points I can get from my BMG! *sigh* Good times! :D

It's because her beam isn't connected to anything yet. Once it connects it will go blue/white. You can also tell by the reticule being half red...means it hasn't connected in a few seconds after it gets full red it forces a cool down like a reload before you can fire it again.
Well I've done far too many Arkfalls to count now since event started and still haven't pulled a jackpot. I'd be happy to pull any jp at this point.
