edit: i think you might have to have boost engaged as you're going through the gate as well but not certain

Oh im well aware im bad, but the game is not fine, i'm recording these bugs for youtube, the terrain is just buggy, the smallest pebble can throw the car completely off. so I just completed the Iron Demon Run time trial 2 seconds shy of Gold, after a single restart where my atv flew 50 feet into the air b/c of a hellbug spawn, anyway...to be more specific about the boost refill only certain gates refill your boost gauge, they have a little circle/coin spinning in the middle and you do not have to have boost running in order for it to refill. the other gates are just the arc with nothing inside of it.
