I heard that the tv show is cancelled. what will happen to this game? will they continue to develop this game and add area's and content or will it just slowly rot away now? anyone have any real info on this? I just bought the season pass and am starting to think maybe I shouldn't have done so ...

well lets put it this way they gave us 1 mission for season 3 that led to a money grab for them
far as i see, the game still show the Fall Event Window..
this is by far the best proof, this game is absolutly no more in development, its managed..

more than the new incoming "aquarium at monterrey" instance and the shrill storyline plus some new expo maps i dont see much more coming
would like to see a "defiance 2" in st louis for new gen graphics cards/consoles tho but pretty sure thats not gonna happend

Defiance is very much alive and well, and is an entity that stands alone from the TV show. We have a major content update coming in march, with new missions and a new instance titled "Dark Metamorphosis". We also have our armistice celebration coming in April, and another major content patch with some amazing new features coming in the near future after that.
The Defiance team is very much dedicated to making sure players are entertained for years to come. Thanks for getting the season pass! We would recommend finding one of our big clans that might be taking new members in game. Playing with others is the best way to experience Defiance! Keep an eye out for future updates, I can assure you they are coming.
