Ive thought to buy it many times, but Im little bit cautious how hard it really is. I liek challenges but I also hate wasting my money.
Did they exaggerate the difficult?
Looks like my instincts were right.. Yeah, maybe I pick it up later.
But now allow me to say this. Up until 2 days ago i felt exactly the same way you do. Then i saw it at EB new for $20.00 so picked it up.
Despite the difficulty and all the dying, this game is addicting and rather awesome!
I'd definitely recommend picking this game up!
And if you're on the 360, then get it cause i need help:)
Ill keep an eye out next time im invading :)
PS if you dont bow your dead
My GT is in signature
Dark souls is the only game I've poured my heart and soul into so far and rolled about 250 hours into, so if you need any help just ask. I have characters at all lvls, so don't worry about not being able to summon me.
Yaaa so i've been stuck on the dragon (where you get the drake sword) for about a week now.
Truth be told i kinda gave up:(

im currently playing dark souls till defiance gets released im about sl 190 ng+ i grinded ALOT just so i could use a variety of weapons
That game soo bad
i've beaten this game a couple times, the first will be the only time you are overwhelmed with undefiable difficulty and if you really just pay attention to every enemy and boss you will learn their weaknesses, exploit them, and breeze through them with awesome armor and weapons. Ive never had a better time with a video game, the community and character progression, if you Ever need help go to dark souls wiki chat, there will be tons of people willing to jump in and co op for as long as you want for souls, as well as tell you where people are holding fight clubs etc also learn about covenants on the wiki and you will see the game essentially never ends.
tip:shoot the red dragons tail with arrows until you get the drake sword good early temp weapon
i prefer tankromancing "medium to heavy knight armor and weapons" mixed with high level pyromancy, i usually stand a chance with other players, but often get destroyed if i go Looking for real pvp. You really need to focus on light maybe medium gear, speed, high dmg, effects, and "Intense" Magic if you want to handle every situation, pvp especially
I'll tell you another good place to dispose of the Dragon (if you've already gotten the Drake sword or just want to get it over with all together). If you continue on the bridge when you first arrive, the flow of the game forces you down the stairs to the right, up underneath the bridge. Clear out the skeletons, make your way around to the left on the narrow ledge into the room that you can see (be mindful of plague rats). Take the ladder up, and instead of following the corridor around the right to where you'll fight the Boar (concentrate on damaging the head if you want the helm drop from him), go to the left. The gate will be closed at this point but where you want to go is the tower that is available for you to ascend.
Do so but be aware of the Knight that is up top awaiting your arrival. I found it easiest to pull him down into the corridor that opens up after you climb the ladder so that you have more room to maneuver. Once you clear out that tower, you have a nice sniper's perch up top where you can get a good clean shot on the Dragon's Head with no risk at all to your well being. It'll take awhile as he has loads of health but, once you finish him off the gate that was locked (the gate at the end of the long bridge you first arrive at to being with, to clarify) will be open and you'll have a new camp to rest at, with an optional covenant to join nearby.
Oh, and I totally echo defiant's shout out to the Dark Souls wiki. Lots of good info and some helpful folks there. Though, I must admit, I do hope they make grouping up a little easier in Dark Souls 2. There just seems to be so many hoops you have to jump through if there is a set person you wish to play with. At least it was on the ps 3.
now that i know Of the drake sword, i might do everything in my power to avoid Ever using it again, that singular piece of equipment was a crutch for my ignorance in Every skill department. I eventually left it behind on my first characters early play through's but it was basically training wheels till i felt able enough to try magic, pyromancy, miracles, or making the most out of the Full upgrade system.
Dark souls is AWESOME!! yeah its prolly the most difficult game Ive ever played but for all the right reasons! Dual weilding is AMAZING, axe/crossbow spear/wand...AWESOME...Can't wait 4 2.
