the DEVS ARE Using PST THAT IS CALI. If your east COAST there 3 hours back 8:20 there is 11:20 here

ive been outa the mmo scene for awhile. last one i really got into was ultima online and that was years ago. so i remember the issues we had there while they updated stuff. im just glad the developers are on top of it and im sure they will get this up and running as soon as they can. til then its shots of jager and metal gear revengeance for me in the mean time!!

its actually is a MMORPG, you level up your EGO boost, and you get stat bonuses. So a new character with a 0 EGO, vs a character with a 1500 EGO wouldn't match up because of the extra skills bonuses from weapons, EGO powers, extra... that qualifies it as a MMORPG. The core ONLY difference is that actual shooting, movement, and dodging skills play a major role in your performance. Again those skills are augmented by stat bonuses that you get from increasing your EGO power. So yeah.... its got core RPG elements.

We have a right to complain, period. Every day there are multiple 30 minute interruptions. It's ridiculous already. If the game wasn't ready for prime time then it shouldn't have been released until it was. It's as simple as that.

Some of us only have so much time we can allocate to play. We don't want it all eaten up by constant server updates and patches. So yes, we have a right to complain and a right to be frustrated. It's completely rational to be frustrated at this game so far. Doesn't mean that ultimately it won't become completely stable and we won't grow to love it for much time to come. Just that right now, as it stands, the experience has been a frustrating one more than worthy of complaint.

But that opinion is your own, and the only one violating rights is you thinking you have the right to ascribe your feelings onto everyone else, as if they're wrong simply for not standing on your side. Fact is, the game is great. I've said before, all MMO's are released in a polished beta stage these days. Its actually the best way to get the game tuned up fast.
What matters these days is support response time, and communication from the devs.
I think trion has proved to be very good at all aspects, as Rift is very polished.
The only other option would be for us to not, have any access to the game because its not being released until Spring 2014. I mean do you want a perfect game another year from now? or would you rather have a great game today, and grow with it over the next year as it only gets better?

Quite simple actually it gives everyone something to do while the maintenance is in progress. That's why these threads are fun so many pissed off for reasons they shouldn't be mad at. MMO game should be given for free until the game is fixed. At the point they should demand we buy a pass to play further. Limit the hours so people cannot beat the game, or some version of limiting. This way no one can say anything about the downtime.

I didn't imply it at all, only that there may be more issues with cross platforms that do not exist for others on PC. The fact you saw it as an implication that it is better than Xbox, speaks volumes on "Hardware insecurity" ;) That's winky face to you, my colleague!

4-6hrs for everyone (because they cant tell who really purchased or not) on ALL bonuses

I wonder whbe I can get through a complete day without anything going wrong... reminds me od the running joke with everquest online adventures and how the servers were powered by hamsters in running wheels... always seemed like they were dropping dead, oh well almost time for bleach hopefully can get on by the end of it.

Lets see many GameStop returns of Defiance because the "connectivity" and "lag" make the game unplayable. Having the PC version not one single instance of lag or connectivity issues (until this downtime). So yeah.. The PC version is far superior to the Xbox version.

Soooooo...What compensation can we expect for all this time wasted that we cant play. I can ask for a $60 refund but who is going to give me back the 2 Hours I have spent waiting to play???

So is that 2300hrs eastern time or something...cause I just lost con to server. Other than that, great game! Can't wait to see the show now.

The funny thing is my ego rating is 486 and some people can't even play.
If you start playing the game in the morning and stay away from populated area's I.e arkfalls, beginner area's. (you wont lag) :)
So stop complaining that you just got off work and can't log in because you're dumb enough to try and play when 2million people just logged in.

I sure hope the show doesn't suffer from these issues....

Don't get me wrong, I own a monster gaming PC and use a rMBP w/an overclocked GT650m to game on the go...but PC's and gaming laptops cost soooooo much more than consoles.

$150 xbox 360 vs. $1000+ gaming PC/Laptop. That alone is a deal breaker for A LOT of people.

I'm not one of the complainers myself because I realize that a game like this will have issues, but that doesn't mean people don't have the right to complain. Also, we are consumers, we don't boast that we can make better games, we buy games with the expectation to play them.

Look at it from this perspective; Not everyone has overwhelming patience, and when you pay $60 for a game, it's generally thought that you would get to play said game. Release day or not, I personally think that people have a right to complain if they cannot access what they have already paid for, even though they come across as impatient.

However, these delays in gameplay are relatively trivial compared to the possibilities of what might have happened, so I would tend to agree that people need to learn some patience, especially if it is in their best interests anyway.
