I showed up at the new freedom crash site to master a sniper rifle and after about 5 or so minutes got suspicious why it hadn't mastered yet and I tested it and its not gaining any xp when I shoot enemies. Has anyone ever had this happen to them?

I went to a daily contract and was able to gain xp. Might have something to do with the crash site location.
Like 2 and a half years ago people were using that spot too farm Xp so they stopped it in that one spot
