    EXL event is all about getting money for kids, the fact you need some loot chase to make you want to participate speaks volumes.

    You don't want people to have what you consider easy access to a shield that might compete with your DH.

    I could respect the honesty, but skip the whole trying to make it about the kids stuff.

    Seems fair to me but lets try to make it more fair.

    Expo Shield - Synergy that Boosts Shield/Health cap and Damage, has shield abilities, o and nano resistance.

    ION was going to be so unfair though..

    This wasn't about the ION being OP it was about the DH staying top dog and making sure the "noobs" didn't have a shot at something with a similar cap.

    Still trying to sort out the 6 point system. I get the concept but the values in the example provided seem arbitrary at best. I'm t also doesn't justify the nerf or explain how ion would've been more "OP" than other shields of similar cap values. The difference between the DH and the ion as far as capacity goes is less than 1 bullet worth of dmg.

    I didn't give the point system post much thought because the DH goes over the 30k which equal 3pnts according to the system so it's not relevant as far as I'm concerned.

    Looking back at it though things like "Recharge Rate: 1 point (10%)" and "Recharge Rate: 2 points (40%)" I don't understand how 30% more only equates to 1 extra point..

    Rarnok even went out of his way to show us what the upgraded versions of our shield would look like but according to Destro we should have just ignored him..

    This pursuit was a chase for vendor trash and it looks like it will remain that way :(

    I have a supreme darkest hour and i never complained about that shield,I really wanted it in game with the high capacity.Just because it was suposed to be unique and worth getting it.And a bit more of capacity is not big deal,some people dont realize that some extra thousands of capacity are gone with a single shot.That shield was going to be useful and useless at the same time,the recharge time sucks,iŽd not have used it being a noob

    Thank you Kuroro, I knew there had to be some level headed DH owners out there that wouldn't mind "noobs" having a crack at a high cap shield. tbh I cant see me using anything over my Superiority Rhino Regen but just knowing people whined enough and got ION nerfed all so they could keep high cap shields out of the hands of others bugs me.

    And you know what? Most of the time I dont even use the darkest hour,because 1k more of capacity than a superiority shield does not makes any difference and the synergy of a darkest hour requires a shield break to activate, I dont want that,I want to avoid shots and kill fast without even be touched,that is why a superiority shield is way better with the right secundary weapon (in my opinion).That ion insulator would not have been near of that,the effect is less dmg while the shield recharges,its like assuming someone will almost kill you,and it has 5% recharge,I did not tested it but it should be around of 20 seconds to fill,I could not wait that much.

    With this being said,complainers do not have a single idea of the game they play,and the shield has been nerfed for no fair reason

    Ion insulator, as it is now, is absolute garbage.
    Surely devs, you sat down and thought out the shield before it went on pts in the first place. Itentionally gave it a higher capacity. Why else on earth would you have it set at a 5% recharge rate???

    These EXL shields should be brought inline with other shields or whatever excuse was used to justify nerfing the ION..thanks.

    Maybe bringing the ION down to the cap of the DH would have been a more fair approach instead of just neutering the ION?

    I've been saying ever since the whiners got the project piper shields "fixed" that if we can't have high cap shields - there should be NO high cap shields. Can't keep running around "fixing" things that weren't broke in the first place, and showing off shields like ion insulator with a higher than standard cap just to turn around and make 'em crap later.

    NO increased cap shields for anyone, or everyone should have access to them. NOT this bs of shields along those lines only come from a ONE DAY event ONCE A YEAR.

    The shield system needs an overhaul just like weapons when they were uplifted! Right now shields aren't used because you like it it's only because all other options are complete trash. I agree that the Ion shouldn't have been nerfed because now it is just a weaker Ironclad/Rebel abomination combination!
