Not to start a "fanboy" debate, but I love my PS3. I'm part of the old school (first system was a NES) so I naturally prefer Sony consoles. The controller is a throw back to SNES/NES and not all bulky and awkward like Xbox. I've never owned a Microsoft console and doubt I ever will. I looked at 13 2 as a Pokemon final fantasy xD you capture rare creatures to fight with you like purple/silver/gold/blue/green chocobo and you lvl em up. I'd actually recommend trying it out sometime. Only bad news is you have to deal with Hope again...Quote:

I think the FF games need to come into the next generation while keeping the traditional charm of the series. Perhaps a free choice/free roam type FF game would be quite good if done right. Maybe make it a spin-off the main series, but I think it's something they should consider.

Dragon's Dogma did a lot of things right when it came to RPGs for me, as far as combat goes, it was how I hoped the dragon fights in Skyrim would be. I shouldn't be dithering about on the ground waiting for it to hover long enough to shoot it down, I should be clinging onto it for dear life as it flies around and I slash my way across its body till it crashes into the dirt. If a monster is huge and I can run, jump and attack freely, let me climb it and stab it in the eye if I want to. I'm supposed to be a grand hero or an adventurer half the time, not a moldy boot that can't hold on to anything.
Yes, Airships and open map would be nice again. As I said bring back some of these classic features and themes FF fans loved, while at the same time bring the series into the modern era. It would be cool to have free choice, even if it was binary. Could you imagine having the choice to help the resistance OR help the empire in a FF game? Even such a little thing would add serious replay value. They need to worry about gameplay again, not how many FMV sequences they can jam into the game.
I never bothered watching Advent children because I just didn't care. I find Final Fantasy VII overrated and most it's popularity (IMO) is because it was the first FF title most gamers played and possibly the first RPG many gamers played. It's not a bad game, I just think when stacked up against it's FF peers it's not that impressive.
I plan to check out Witcher 3.
Dragons Dogma is one of the best games Capcom has done in a long...long time. Ill be rebuying DD: Dark Arisan. It's the same game but they edited a lot of it to make it simpler and they added the huge expansion.

Either way I can't wait to throw myself into the depths of Bitterblack Isle, after I've finished off my currently playthrough, I'll restart for Dark Arisen. I loved Dragon's Dogma to bits and it's one of the very few games that I bothered to get a Platinum trophy for. (Because how little I care about trophies and gamerscore can't be measured in words. I don't think there's a better way of saying '**** all' in the entire dictionary. :P )
You don't have to restart that's the good thing! And you get a...stone thing that you can pick up and reuse 100k ...forgot the pawn money thing...sadness.

They may well be slimy gits and make awful marketing decisions and yes, they tend to be greedy idiots rather frequently, but Dragon's Dogma is one game I constantly encourage people to support. If only so that a better company can make a better game with the same style of combat, but I couldn't stand to see the idea of climbing gigantic enemies to take them down along with an active combat system for an RPG simply vanish into the mists of videogame history. :<Quote:
