While your list is fine ppl won't know what mod does what. You did tell ppl about defiancedata. This is how I learned about the mods. Hopefully this great resource will be available for awhile.

I'm sure that you thought that you were trying to help but it really doesn't.

First there is a sticky in the General forum titled "Great List of Forum Game Guides" and the very first link in that thread is "SiN's Ultimate Guide to Weapon Mods and Synergies". Second what is the point of copying the list mods from Defiance Data when you already posted the link? Finally, this is the Trade forum so even if neither of these sources existed this is the wrong place to post it.

Yeah, I agree that it is nice to see and I can appreciate that they took the time to put it together.

This whole thread came about because someone posted in a trade thread that they shouldn't have to look up which mods go on specific guns so this wouldn't have helped them anyways. I was trying to point out that it was misguided and even if it wasn't that it wasn't the proper venue.

Okay, I actually made this forum because this kid said it shouldn't be his responsibility to look up what mods went with what gun and basically ruined someone's post and I want to stop people from doing that. r1p you were even in the forum that went toxic so why come try to insult my actions, why don't you try being helpful for a change? Also, I am in no way new to this game just haven't bothered with the forums until recently.

when I first saw his post, I was going to help the kid out & do something similar to what you did; until he called the seller an "idiot" for not educating him, his overall attitude was very poor - kudos to you for being a good Samaritan, no matter how the person acts

I'm sorry that you feel that way but after re-reading my post I can't see how I insulted your actions. My followup post even stated that I could appreciate the work that you did. All I did was point out that there were already several sources that contained this information and that this wasn't the proper place to post this. Threads like this quickly get buried after a couple of days (hence sticky threads) and posting them in the wrong forum means that even less people will see them.

As for being helpful "for once", in the trade thread that you reference I suggested in my post that the disgruntled player should visit defiancedata.com. The reason that I did not list what the mods were or create a thread like this is because not only is it redundant but by providing a link to a source of information that covers more than just mods provides an opportunity for that person to become self-reliant. Think of it as a "teach a man how to fish" kind of thing. Unfortunately in this case the person in that thread turned out to be a "catch the fish for me, cook it for me, and then feed it to me" type of person.
