I love the game im 699 Ego and trying at the Pursuits but feeling blocked by these :( I dont buy racing games, I dont really enjoy them so making even a silver medal is a stretch for me. I just barely pased on with 4:10 for a silver medal cut off is at 4:11. Anyone have any advice for these? I know about the boost gates and started using them and ive heard that your runner level does account in them but ive also heard it doesnt count in a Time trial.
sucks but onless you have the dodge charger, dont try those... the dodge is the fastest car in the game, and you only got it if you pre-ordered the game, and those gold medals are won all be ppl with the dodge, forget it if you have any other type of car...
Oh that's odd... I've scored gold on 1-2 so far with a quad I bought from a vendor... Not that I've tried many but gold isn't too hard, just takes practice and learning how to land your jumps.Quote:

Time trials have a set time you have to beat in order to get gold it doesn't keep getting harder due to other player's times. I had to get a time of 0:52 in order to get gold, as stated by the game, while other players had a score of 0:50. I got exactly 0:52 and got gold. Also you have to race in a quad, you don't have a choice on what you can use. Well at least in the 6 that I've done it made me race in a quad.
Roadblock pop ins.
When I'm flying down the road and see NOTHING on the road then BAM! I get stopped then a second later, and enemy vehicle is right in my way haha.
what i hate most is the lack of a real crafting system. im into being a tradesman and having my stuff bought by other players. what else is there to do but lobotomize heads?
If Tranquility Sprint allows you to use a better ATV or the Challenger, please tell me how. Or, what kind of controller adjustment will make the ATV stop wandering left and right even if I try valiantly to push the stick straight forward?
Same with the (I believe) Rampage: Hot Shot where the shotgun sucks badly yet I have to somehow keep killing mutants with it until I get a silver. Perhaps once I earn enough perks to be invulnerable??
I mean, missions that are crap but not really optional SUCK...
This is a shooter first MMO second. I really doubt they will put in a crafting system. Thats kinda dumb.Quote:

In all seriousness though, about the only thing that is really irking me lately are the invisible walls on hills and mountains. Lately, I've been finding enjoyment in foot travel. I'll start out in any direction from a particular bind point and just wander. Mostly I've been doing this so that I have a chance to work on my Sniping proficiency. So if I happen upon a camp/roadblock/mine or whatever, I'll find a nice high spot with a good line of sight and put in some work. This is where the invisible walls come in to play. It's sort of like what Krazee describes. I'll be walking up a hill path (along a dirt path mind you) with no excessive incline and all of a sudden, THUMP! I'm the Eagle mascot in the Sportscenter commercial that walks into the plate of glass! Happened to me going up a mountain and I actually ended up trapped. I couldn't even go back the way I came.
It's minor really. The bigger problem comes from the mutated roots that run along the edges of these hills. I was on a hill top shooting down into a path that ran through a valley. I was trying to give cover to someone that was moving along the path. So I'd scope in, take a shot, adjust my position, zoom in, take a shot, etc. On one of the Raiders I was shooting at, he moved at just the last moment, so I moved slightly so that I had a better shot. Being scoped in, I didn't see the edge of the hill (even though it was a rounded hilltop) and slid down into a tiny gap between the hill and a mutated root. Instantly stuck. For those that have this happen the easy fix is just to fast travel out.
I don't really hate anything in the game though. Other than my own stupid moments that get me killed that is.

Wait, you can choose your vehicle for the race trials? Does it just use the default vehicle you have assigned to your loadout? Cuz it seems like all the time trials I've done I use one of the quads, but it's the same one I have equipped. I just assumed the time trials were pre-assigned quadbikes. If you can choose your own vehicle, that adds a whole new dimension to the time trials and explains why I can't get silver on a lot of them.Quote:

you cant use your doge challenger during races besides for the special event. All the time trials you have to use the atv if you level up runner to level 14 you should be able to get gold a lot easierQuote:

I love starting races DEAD, lying on the ground outside of the vehicle. Yeah, that's a special kind of stupid there.
thing i hate most , the million bugs , server issue server issue , the overall not lack of game play and content . you can finish the whole game story mode and side missions in like 10 hours or less. for an mmoh i would of figure they would be more to it then that
for the most part I am really enjoying the game. I've now hit EGO 1205. I like the pursuits and system of level your character's ability up. It's not a Loot focused game entirely. It forces you to change weapons frequently.
What I absolutely hate is every new patch introduces more bugs. First patch killed player names. Last patch killed pursuits and took the game out of commission for many hours. Given Trion has experience in this area and it's not entirely their first rodeo it's saddening.
The difficulty ranges on each end of the spectrum with no in between. Very easy to mind numbingly frustratingly hard (Nim). When battling Nim the pillars and himself disappear only to score extremely high damage invisible hits making it more frustrating.
Contracts that are supposed to be there for episodes aren't and we can't complete. They need to fix the playable elements of the game.
I will give them the fact that I've seen servers get better and frame rates rise a bit. but Frame rates still fluctuate like Oprahs weight in the 90s.
Vehicles at Arkfalls...hands down.
I love racing games, all kinds too; Arcade Racers, Racing Sims, Off-Road Racers and that game "Fuel" which sort of has it's own thing going on. Hell, I even like old-school top-down racers like Micro Machines. But I absolutely hate the racing in Defiance. I can't even put my hate into words. The only reason I go anywhere near a time-trial is if I'm already close to completing a goal and their all I have left to do. The lousy car models, the crappy physics, the thrown together courses that lack any sort of racing acumen in their design; Defiance has just the worst racing I've ever seen. And I've been playing racing games since the Atari 2600 days. The only racing worse than Defiance are those remote control car races they have at different amusement parks/carnivals. But even those are more entertaining because you can ram your friends and just turn it into a destruction derby. Defiance racing has no such redeeming qualities.Quote:
