    NDA is having opposite affect.
All the hoopla aside about national security over this game, do you guys think that once the NDA is officially lifted the ferver and excitement will return to these forums?

I know I have real difficulty telling my friends why I'll probably love the game so much. They just have to take my word for it that they should pre-order it, and given how much I love pretty much all games they're not going to trust me ;) So once the NDA lifts, I'll be able to share a lot more and hopefully get a good squad together on launch.

Yeah because Trion will know if you tell your friends. They have eye's everywhere. lol But seriously I would say tell them not like anybody would know if you do or do not. As the saying goes "what they don't know can't hurt them".

I am pretty hyped about the game just from the live streams and videos out there now.

They've infiltrated everywhere! I just can't risk it! Though in all seriousness, it's not like I could tell them much anyway - mostly just showing them links to the publicly available stuff does the job.

I still do hope that the end of the beta will bring a lot of people who mostly post only on the beta forum onto this one. In any MMO, there are always people who enjoy discussing the ups and downs of any updates. Hopefully it'll be nice and constructive of course ;)

It's always how it works. I've been through a good many betas and alphas... the hype gets HUGE then they do a test with a strict NDA in place. Then, nothing. All goes quiet and the little is released or at least what is released is controlled by the team. Then the hype grows with the next beta test... and rinse and repeat.

Eventually the release gets hyped up and people get to finally see it in a complete state to make a final decision.

With most games i would agree its feels like they hiding something .
Not saying names but i think some game did hurt the trust with the industry very very bad !

The sad truth is that people fall for first impression if that is bad they will not look back.
If you look at most leaks from games they are not to inform but a stage for attention Ho's ,most pointing at bugs ,sensationalism like bad press. Its look at me not facts , the worse bugs the better.
I can see trough and i know a lot of gamers can do the same but if there is a risk of damaging future of the game it should be kept at as low as possible .

Trion shows stuff them selves that is awesome as this gives a better view how it will be like for real.

There is a hype building up ,the great part is it has proof to back it so expectations will be build on facts with enough room for speculation... This should be the standard in the industry ,minimum backdrafts as the foundation is build on facts not pure fantasy!!

We all wish it was not needed but its a small price to pay as for we are in this together.

Ive trust in console beta and especially in open beta. This is PREMIUM game, people will notice it or they're dumb.

Dust 514 was a bust for me after playing the beta, maybe I will give it another try but I doubt it. Like someone mentioned a bad first impression can be hard to get over. Bad media coverage can be even worse. Obviously since things like the nda are done with almost every game they have good reason for it.

I guess the NDA will drop once they have all the major bugs ironed out.As it stands, with only Trion being aloud to show stuff it means there is always somebody there to explain away any problems they run into.Think how bad newbies might see the live-streams being if Lance wasn't there to keep mentioning that there playing on alpha.

It actually has very very little to do with bad press, or the public knowing about bugs and wording, granted it has its part to play.

But its mostly down to legallity. With the NDA they can still change content. Ie they can remove features or change them without worry. So say for example shadow war. If they kept that under NDA, and it had some major bugs they could remove it for later release when its sorted, last minute.

That's why most stuff we hear about is sorted, mostly, or there being vague over. Gives them wiggle room.

Prime example of this is WarZ. They promised tons of stuff for the bought beta and ended up destorying its rep and forcing refunds because they didn't have the content in it. (among other reasons too off) but if they had NDA and held back details they wouldn't of made such a balls up
