A brand new event is blasting into Defiance to kick off 2017 with a bang: Nuclear Winter is coming!

This radiation-themed event is aglow with the spirit of the New Year. Take down irradiated ruffians at new arkfalls to collect new loot.

New Synergy: Isotropic Decay
[1] +17% Accuracy and -17% Recoil
[2] -17% Reload
[3] +17% Crit
[4] +17% Damage

U-238 is a powerful new weapon manufacturer. U-238 manufactured weapons have 10% Armor Penetration and 10% increased nano proc chance!

Weapon Types
Assault Rifle, Bolt Action Repeater, HP-6 Wolfhound, SMG, PS-30 Slugger, SAW, and Charge Blade.

Jackpot weapons have all new radiation themed skins to suit the Nuclear Winter event.

agreed. the last 2 events, between guns & synergy, meh. this one i only want the smg & quick repeater. but i love the syn.

Yep I'm guaranteed the Sniper Slugger an Smg but will have to wait and see.
It's looking as if I can only get 1patron pass so I'll have to make my mind up which console to get it for.

Would still like to know what is in the bundle though.

Edit. Something I've just noticed, we've got 3 auto's again not knowing what is in the bundle.

Please make sure the t4 AR Mods drop accordingly.
People are going to go nuts trying to get them and the forums will be flooded with posts again if they aren't available

People without skill will always go for the crybaby response. "Waa! I got one-shotted by a sniper rifle like it should be."

Seriously, the crying in PvP is sad at times. If you die, get better, or get out.

Same goes for PvE, really. Listened to a bunch crying about how they were getting torn up in a shrill siege. Went there and they were just standing in a group firing Bombardier SMGs. Not dodging, not moving and getting eaten alive by the leeches. Sad.

To the main topic:
I love this synergy. Gonna make sniper awesome again, and I soooooo want that pistol and LMG. Hell, I want them all, lol.

Like Bentu though, I would like to know what's offered in the bundle *nudges Devs* Tell!.....please *puppy dog eyes* =O.O=

We haven't heard anything about Nuclear Winter for a few days, just the definitive start date...testing going well, any delays, is there a bundle, any news you can give us?

If there is a bundle it'll probably be broken due to lack of testing.

And a week after this event stops, we'll have the Valentine based one... all the back-to-back events are starting to feel like Trion's just jingling their keys in front of us going "Look at the Shinies!!" rather than give us actual content.

Considering population explodes during events I'd imagine that Trion has simply realized this is the kind of stuff most of their core players want. I'd imagine in a post apocalyptic world where things are dull and drab everyone enjoys these New shinies!!! They only do a major content update once a year... the rest of the time it's new synergies. At least in the past year they've come up with a bunch of new events of which Nuclear Winter is one of them. People go away when they get bored because other then grining expos what are we going to do in-between events? At least with new events going constantly the number of players only dip during the off week or the final week of the event.

TESTING? The last bundle that was on PTS was the shrill one!!! Hard to test what ain't there

I can confirm reload is fixed on the auto sniper at least, but the auto sniper jackpot i droped got a black skin like SMG in PTS, will it be the same for all jckpot untill there's a fix ?

Those aren't VBI SMGs so don't think they would be affected.

MOTU & Oblivion are of a whole new smg base (bombadier) & I don't believe they are VBI or a VBI variant although they could be vbi, sure looks like a vbi & if it is a vbi, it's a bombadier smg not the base type of smg...so good question. :)

What do u mean by bundles? What bundles, is the only we to get the stuff to do the arkfalls? I was told we get like a bundle free or something

How hard is it to post a picture of everything included in the bundle ? Outfit (male and female), gun, skin, card... just like the event.
I don't buy a dress if I can't even see it.

They usually release bundles with events. You can find the current bundle in-game in the Defiance store section. They are not free and cost real-world currency.
Possibly can buy it online as well thru official website, but not completely sure.

What you probably were thinking about is the pursuit you do to get +35 inventory after earning 50 points thru doing Nuclear Winter Arkfalls. Yes, that is free, but it's not a "bundle" it's a holiday event pursuit.

Do we no longer rate patch notes? I had to ask others what the name of the event was and when it started what the arcfalls are called. Three days into to the event still seeing the solstice strike weapons on the patch notes I had to go to the pts page to see what the jackpot weapons were even called. Is it too much trouble to write a damn note saying there is an event? I mean we have to sit for an hour every time to patch it you could at least let us know why. I don't think I'm asking too much here. Seriously.

They are barely developing anything. Creating new content seems like a thing that will never happen any time soon :(

Agreed, I doubt we'll really see any type of "new" content for awhile, if at all, especially on consoles, just a new monthly event. With Trove, another of their mmorpgs, being ported to the next gen, it looks like their resources are gonna be used to get it running...also, as of late, I've been getting alot of messages from Twitch about their simultaneously turn based game Atlas Reactor being streamed...so alot of money is probably being invested into it also. Its looking like no more money is being invested into Defiance by Trion...just the base of faithful spenders and occasional purchases by the new player, unaware of how bad the problems really are, is all that's keeping Defiance up & running imo.
