Give me the money Trion got and a development team of my choice and I could guarantee a better game, the design approach to Defiance is basic at best with no thought to long term creativity and social interaction.

You only cause yourself grief if you think about Defiance as an MMO. It's just a multiplayer 3rd person shooter. None of the traditional stuff is there.

How did we start hating on consoles? What on earth about this topic made you all turn on us new to MMO Xbox folk?

Well this is embarrassing, I'm a competitive FPS gamer so I'd say FPS games pretty much my main thing. None of the pursuits took me more than 5 minutes to get gold, arkfalls are the EXACT same on repeat, not even a hint of dynamism. 90% of the side missions you can do with one hand, walking and holding e, done. The co-op maps ... oh god the co-op maps, compared to Trions previous releases they are a joke, nothing difficult about them, lots of trash to just clear without thinking and a ridiculously basic 'boss' at the end.

I'm bored because the content is rehashed old **** without any thought behind it, and a tiny amount of content at that.

You seem to be assuming that signature wasn't handled months, if not years, ago. Even if absolutely nothing existed until 2010, then keep in mind the TV series was created in paralell with the game. Not to mention it's easy to handwave a system in the game, just as long as it fits within the world already established by the two companies.

As with any experiment, though, this will either work or it'll explode. I'm absolutely giving Trion/Syfy points for trying something other than yet another ****ty TV Procedural. Even if it ends up collapsing, they've already done more than most would be willing to attempt.

Defiance is just a game that's easy to see being a console port. That's going to be a lot of hate right there. PC menus tend to suffer on console ports.

Oh clearly! No missions/quests, no clans, no looting, no leveling, no progression, no open world exploration, no massive player battles... Oh wait!

To each their own. I enjoy it. It has more content than CoD, BF3, and all the other shooters I play. More things to do.

One little snippet...you don't get Gold in pursuits, I believe your thinking of the Hotshots and Time Trials.

Pursuits are the achievement like 'quests' you do to level up your Ego and Power Rating.
