I hope they leave soon :)
Some idiot on here made the argument that the level progression of this game is too slow because his EGO of 383 is less than level 4 if you compare the max EGO of 5000 to level 50 of another MMO.
I think we found a real genius in this one.
i've finished the story questline of the game, purely to open up the other areas that i wouldn't be able to get to otherwise, and i did the first episode questline on day 1, because it was there and i was enjoying it. still loads of content for me to do, loads of side missions, pursuits, co-op and pvp to play, am i upset by the fact it only took a few days to finish the story, nope. they'll add more when the time is right, and new episode missions will be coming soon. so between now and then i'll be working my weapons to make sure i'm really powerful for when these arrive.
The game is great. There is plenty to do even now as long you aren't playing 12+ hours a day. Seriously people go outside a little bit. If your done with all the content you can still play in the Shadow War. As the show progresses so will the game. It's going to evolve so just chill out... it's entertainment.
Nobody has finished the game so they can all shutup. If you are going to claim you did then I expect screenshots showing all 100+ pursuits complete, 5000 EGO and full reps with all factions. If you can't show that then you haven't "finished" anything.
This game has one glaring issue, severe lack of content. You can fanboy it up and slam those that complain, calling them hecklers and haters, but it still won't mask the fact this game is an empty shell. Now I've been told several times that this game is supposed to walk hand in hand with the show, that content will only flow based off what happens in the show. We know we're getting a couple episode quests and an extension to the story questline. That's great. But that's a fraction of what this game needs content-wise to keep it from becoming boring within a couple nights play.
I beat all main, side and episode missions in 3 days.. im now running a community thread Here~ as well as continueing to grind my way up the levels :3 the game is fun.. ya its kinda tedious after youv done all the missions but hay.. im the one who did it xD
As far as I read we are getting a patch on the 14th to 15th april which is supposed to be 8 pages long with changes. People are also mentioning something about sea vehicles and other things supposed to come into play.
But just for you ill do the same comparison to other games that fit together with the genre even tho its not entirely the same.
Bioshock infinite. a straight story line and gameplay that will last you 10 - 12 hours on average. there is one ending and 1 new unlockable difficulty should u want to replay through the same old stuff once again. In other words no real replayability. This game has been praised to high heavens by all reviewers and u pay 50 euros for it as a general price at the moment.
Call of duty/Battlefield series.
When they came out they offered campaigns that last u on average between 6 - 8 hours of pve content. The real hype is the pvp content and the unlockables I suppose but eventually it gets just as old as any other shooter unless u actually like pvp. once again 50 euros on release.
Defiance. A main storyline which will last u about 8 - 12 hours if u go only for that. There are sidequests which will pretty much double that amount for a speed player. The story isnt the greatest but it definetely isnt bad either. There is EGO progression which is very similar to how you progress in call of duty when going into prestige. the higher ur ego the higher ur prestige or so to say (Even tho people dont look at it this way)
There are 6 doable dungeons which can be done over and over again. Theres reputations that can be farmed to unlock gear.
Collectible vehicles. Collectible suits. Also legendary weapons (which will not differ much from a normal weapon due to pvp balance. I only suspect this and dont have any proof but I would understand it nonetheless) that you can add synergy mods to and it actually takes a while to farm that legendary and the right mods to fit it to get maximum benefit. There are weapon skills and vehicle skills to raise up and perfectionise as well.
lastly I wanna say that the game is pretty much a shooter and for shooters to survive they usually rely alot on pvp and I suspect defiance is going to do the same. It all adds up to do pvp anyway with your gathered gear and items and also for me the pvp is actually quite fun and intriguing with the way they made it.
Also no monthly subscription and its a 50 euro price unless u do decide to go deluxe or buy the extra DLC.
So in comparison to many other games which has genres overlapping with this game. Even tho its not the same genre which I am also well aware off (this is an mmotps with a huge focus on the tps part. not a mmorpg in the way which people seem to want it to be) then tbh u already got your worth of content with that price and even more than you could ask for.
If you still find this game lacking then maybe this is just not the game for you. :-)
Yes, this game is lacking when compared to other mmo titles out there, be it mmorpg, mmofps, moba.
Not sure why you are trying to compare it to a pair of multiplayer shooters COD/BF3. The multiplayer/pvp in this game is laughably bad. 3 total maps, 90% of the playerbase running one perk/power combination. Playability quickly evaporates after playing the maps a couple times. It's really a poorly implemented portion of the game that was thrown in so they could claim their co-op game had pvp.
Your comparison to Bioshock Infinite, is actually more relevant. Bioshock is meant for a couple playthroughs, then its done. This game is supposed to be mmo, but due to lack of content, has about the same lifespan as a single player game. Unfortunately, since Bioshock's 10-12 hours are far superior than twice or three times the time spent in this game, one could safely assume up until this point, Bioshock would be a far better expenditure of 60 bucks than Defiance. That can change with the addition of more content/dlc.
I'm not too worried. There's no subscription involved, I can always quit and return to check out any new content (if its worth it). I got my copy for 45 bucks, and I feel I got my moneys worth. But calling this game an mmo, or claiming its rich in content, is a flat out lie.
